inspired by metallica?? cuz is it just me or am i just too baked... im kinda hearing Dont Tread On Me but obviously different... either way .. another awesome video
@juankang What don't you like about it? Not scolding (we all have our opinions), just curious. I'm an Ibanez player myself but I think his Solar 7's are beautiful!
Hey Ola, I've seen a comment in which you were saying that you like Floyd Rose bridge because it's more confortable at palm muting, but i've noticed you have an esp eclipse too, do you feel so much difference between the types of bridges, of it's barely noticeable?
Hi Ola, how do you set the metronome on the audio recording software to play over a song? I can't sync mine properly. Even if the bpm are correct with the song tempo, after a while it gets out of time....
Hey Ola, could you please let me know what the names of all the songs in this video are? I WANT TO BUY THEM ALL! Btw, Lords Resistance Army is my favorite song at the moment :)
As usual a superb job.. one of the best sounds on you tube.. I wish i knew your secret for you tube videos.. every time i try to record a guitar or amp the sound is so compressed it sounds like a fart in a tin can..
Ola is fantastic at writing his own riffs, his music is amazing!
BUT! I can never tell the difference between the amps he uses, the way he EQ's them, they all sound so similar. I don't think I could single out any specific amp just by ear. Either way, he is a FAR better guitarist than I am.
Really the best way to. Make your tone stand out a good technique you developed guitar by thatch mean the whole thing not just pickups the wood and hardware affect tone too then your pedals or if your like me no pedals...then equal then speakers then the actual amp stuff
I gotta say it. None of these amps really stand out. Combining Ola's vids with my personal experience leads me to believe it's a conspiracy. All these companies are still overdriving a few 12AX7s. Whether or not they have cut highs and basss throughout the preamp circuitry(ENGL), bias one valve triode to distort heavily(5150, Soldano, Mesa), use higher voltages/better power filtering(Fryette) or even just plain awesome build quality seems like a distant second to speakers, pickups and technique.
@bedofrazorsqwerty I get how that's true for some amps, but the number of gain stages and the way they're arranged still matters a lot. Besides, it's true that you can usually get a number of very similar tones out of very different amps depending on how you dial them in, but at the same time, you're not going to get a Dual Rectifier to produce all the tones that something like an Orange Thunderverb can, or a Powerball, or a 5150, or a SLO, etc.
@ShredmastaZ Fair enough for the most part. To clarify, there is a lot overlap in tone between modern high-gainers, enough so that I believe the amplifier to be the least important part in the signal chain provided it is in the appropriate category for the sound you are trying to ballpark. Simply put: Your skills>your guitar>the EQ and strength of your signal before the amp>your speakers/cabinet>the amp itself.
@bedofrazorsqwerty That's fair. But it all kind of depends on how extreme the tone you're looking for is. If you're going to djent it, then amps pretty much are interchangeable given how extreme you're eq-ing things. But if you don't scoop or boost anything too much, every amp tends to have a unique character that gets a chance to shine through.
@bedofrazorsqwerty VERY good point... to be honest, there aren't a lot of amps really standing out when it comes metal, I can only name a handful that has their own distinct sound, other than that, amps are still based on the same rectifier/5150 as they always been. And no I wont name the handful of amps I think has their "own" sound. Shitstorm to follow if I do...
@fearedse Cheers Ola! Well I'd like to know your thoughts on that anyways. You get to take them home after all. If you PM( or IM or whatever YouTube calls it) me those amps you feel deserve recognition, I promise not to post it. My guess: output transformerless amps, MESA Mark IV(with the EQ mid preamp instead of after the gain stages), Orange Rockerverb(squishy dynamics) and the 5153 with that huge ass output tranny. Maybe Splawn Nitro. It is a unique mixture of Marshall and ENGL circuitry.
