blogging tools like MT and WP have draft functions. You can save your ideas as a draft post instead of putting them on your desktop, so you can achieve your ideas anywhere with a connection.
Thanks for sharing your process... it's always good hearing what others do. I don't keep a folder as such but as I become inspired about a topic I try to write it then and there... not always possible.
I type it directly into my blog... and I don't sit on it for any longer than it takes me to write and proofread.

For you Darren, what's the benefit of using Ecto rather than just logging into your WP back-end? And also, do you ever just improvise a post without the thorough editing/24 hour cooling-off period?
