You got me wrong bro I'm telling him these things so that he betters himself...and if he doesn't handle critical critique its gunna be hard for him in his soccer journey.....and ur right I'm not nothing yet but I play for the boys u16 la galaxy youth system
That's exactly what I was thinking. The breathing was done considering the fact it looked about 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Also, who really cares about his breathing and noises? If you were to watch Petr Cech or, if he still played, Peter Schmeichel's training, they would be doing the exact same thing.
Your good and all but here's a few points your breathing is exaggerated I.k for a fact that that's not good to breath like that I.k cause I'm 16 and I've been trained by a pro goalkeeper coach name ignacio hernandez who was in galaxy in the 2005 season and he's tought me well
@Swisscati1098 kid do you really think you can give "a few points" to him? You're a nobody he's pro starting in the first division in Norway. blows my mind how jealous you are.
@Filipao83 Too Physical? not really??? it works on quick feet which is important for GK's...the only thing i would recomend is work on your breathing, your going to hyperventalate if you keep breathing as quickly as you do,. Control your breathing! it will help conserve energy and help you in the long run. Second watch your positioning, you were good for the most part but you had a few occassions when you were out of position so it made it harder for you to get to the ball.
steve great video and so pleased you're a pro now. you deserve it, it's clear you're a brave and agile keeper who works hard at his game. american keepers - what's with you guys??? eg brad F, tim H, kasey K - all awesome !
Great video! I'll be playing in college here soon. Do you have any tips on what to really focus on when you make that big step from high school ball to collegiate soccer?
Really amazing stuff.....and for those who are saying crap I would love to see you play, you don't even realize how tiring that practice is and how hard it is to even catch a ball after training like that, let alone having the correct technique at all times
Really inspiring stuff man :) I agree with Halamadrid65, I really have no official training as a keeper, but love playing keeper and have learned from watching the pros
your hand shape when you perform low dive is all wrong which is why you hold nothing. and the way you try to intimidate the forwards in matches makes u look a right tool. the drills you do in training are pretty good though. keep working at it
@jaxfd agree with that. Mate stop insulting forwards as you could end up with egg on your face. Take a leaf out of the likes of Van der saar or even your own country men Tim Howard and Brad Freidel.

Can He Rich Success? - He's Very Worried About That? It's His Dreem To Play With Big Footballers...... So Can He Rich Something.......? Just I Want To Know, What's Your Mind? ;( ...........
Excellent vid. I'm 21 and 6'4, and about 170lbs. My problem is i am bruised for days after matches on my hips, i have really bony ones! I wear two layers of padded shorts :/ In your opinion do you find your weight more on your shoulders when you hit the ground after a dive, or on your hips? Useful video btw. Also, its good to see you include the shots that get past you, few goalkeepers videos do that and it actually helps to see how they could have been prevented. Youre top class mate!
im 14 and i found out myself that the key to good teqniq is watching many matches or keeper training vids with good teqniq, just watch the pro and his teqniq concentrate and have the sense of the game.. be SICK.
i've been a goalkeeper for the past few months starting during january, but i always can't seem to be able to handle shots that is going into the top corners. could you help by giving me some advice. btw, greeting from Singapore.
very good saves, brillant reflects. I am mostly the same as you but im 5ft 11 which needs a good leep to do goalkeeper but my club recently won the cup and there was scouts from wolves. liverpool, man utd and west ham. So the scout from liverpool wanted me and im going over again in 2 weeks for my final trail.
you should take arsenal's try out man.. that kind of goalkeeping skill would help arsenal's keeper crisis.. tell me if you're coming here mate.. can't wait to see you here.. but you still need to improve your stamina ;)
you should have a try out for arsenal man that kind of skill would help to solve arsenal keeper crisis.. come to England, tell me if you take any try out in England.. wants to see you soon hahahah.. nice goalkeeping mate ;)
Dude your amazing! and can you give me some tips on diving because sometimes when i dive it hurts my shoulder/knee, i just started being a goalkeeper at the beginning of September
@zwoooooooooosh yeah and you think your oliver kahn right ?! don't judge people without having experience you're just a idiot that thinks he's an expert while you're just a idiot that thinks he's better than anyone else.. but you know what you just a idiot and you're way too stupid!! this guy makes everything 99% perfect and you know a SHIT whats right and wrong ok got that?!
You are a very good keeper but of course the more you train the better you get, I thing though that didnt seem appropriate or should I say respectful was the attitude. I know when your a keeper you show aggresiveness but be a man of character and show more sportsmanship, thats what we need. But other than that you are talented and glad to hear your pro

@daddycool81 thanks for the nice message. I have changed things in my game since I went pro but overall the same skill level in this video is the skill set I make money off of today. @1234karn1234 yo man, I play for Honefossbk. We were relegated last season from the Tippeligaen to the 2nd division in Norway. Will be back up next year, although my contract is up in December.
@stclark23 That's unreal. Congradulations on making it to the pros. I was also wondering if you have any good goalkeeper workout? If you do could you E-Mail them to me?
i would bring u to old trafford the team that i manage now is Manchester United been there since 1987 19th league title on its way by the way looking for a new GK maybe u could be my choice but great work
as a keeper, and i'm sure others will agree, that you can really appreciate the save at 2.50, not the best looking, but as a keeper very difficult to make
@17gibin Wel actually I broke my finger when I did not catch a ball correctly even though I had Finger Protection I needed suggery. If you place your hands correctly behind the ball while catching there is nothing that can happen. When a goalkeeper decides to catch a fast shot the hands of the goalkeeper are formed in a bowl with his dumbs and 2 index fingers forming a triangle. This position takes away, or better said spreads the force over a larger surface of the hand. Makes it easier to catch
@FerrariJunior95 I know at least 3 goalkeepers who have had serious finger injuries when wearing fingersave gloves. I would advise to stay away from that stuff because it hinders your finger movements and your feeling of the ball. Worst thing a young and learning goalkeeper can do to him/herself is getting fingersave gloves.
@LehmannDaHero I know. Haven't got it anymore. Just had it for those 2 months but never going to wear it again. It really through what you are saying. I'm 15 years old and I've experienced it myself.
@17gibin No ofcourse not. I've hurt my fingers multiple times but obviously this ment I wasn't doing it the right way. If you want me to I can make a short demonstration video how to hold the ball properly.
You should look out for that big gap between your legs when you want to catch a ball which is coming over the ground. If you make a mistake than the ball can slip easily through. You should bend one leg a bit so it's more behind the ball in case you let it slip. Will prefent balls going through. Very nice clip. Keep it up!
@Poepaanjebroek That is just a matter of preferance. Every goalkeeper coach will teach his students different techniques, whether it is the K barrier scoop, the L barrier scoop or this particullar technique where you open you legs wide to hold the ball. Personally I was taught to use this technique when i trained with my National Team and the Arsenal Goalkeepers employ this technique as well. If your technique is correct, you shouldn't let any balls go through your legs.
At 4:15 a kid with a red cap raises hes hand with a vuvuzela after the keeper saves the penalty, but this video was made in 2008, 2 YEARS BEFORE SUDAFRICA 2010
I have met steve he is a really great bloke and he is now playing in sweden he training regimes are tough but it really helped me as a young keeper learning through steve clarke
ha i laugh at the people who are giving steve tips, when i guarentee he should be giving you tips, he and mitch hildebrandt were and currently are two of the top keepers in the ncaa to go along they have a great coach eric pogue, at a pretty prestigous soccer school and incase you werent aware steve is playing proffesional soccer in england
ha i honestly laugh at the people who are giving Steve tips when i guarantee he should be giving you tips, in-case you weren't aware Steve was one of the top keepers in the NCAA as was Mitch hildebrandt, and Eric pogue is a great keeper coach to go along with oaklands prestigious program, and in-case you weren't aware Steve is playing professional soccer in England
When you get up on the drill at 2:20 you use you hands don't you need to get up without using them but you're pretty good keeper. You have good agility.
just a tip try not to keep your legs so spread out when catching balls to the chest or ground for the ball could do something oquard resulting in a meg
well done steeve your feetwork is like lighting well done if yu were little bit more relaxed when your diving you would eaisly have ability to catch alll of them
...no second barrier if the ball were to go through is hands as speed. However fantastic foot speed, and a good spring, providing him with great agility. Also gets up of the floor well on recovery saves. Keep it up! all the best
Steve looks like a good keeper technically, and shows a lot of potential in these clips. From the footage in this video, the only elements of note are the position of his hands when setting (down by his sides and sometimes in line with his body, as oppose to in front of the line of the body in order to take the ball as early as possible and maybe a little higher, giving him less work when moving his hands into a catching position. additionally, on his pickups, his legs are very wide, providing..
Looks like your team needs some better defenders - so many through balls getting though - lol @ 3:45 charging the forward.. and lol @ 4:22 killing ur own defender
A este chico le hace falta tecnica a la hora de hacer la recepcion del balon abajo no flecciona la rodilla y al momento de levantarce para ir por el balon, debe de girar con la espalda. En lo demas anda bien.
good job man not bad at all....getting technique down is important and i think you got good technique, very quick to the ball and a lot of natural ability great video
I am not saying your bad, cause your not,you just need teqniche(don't know how to write it :P) trainig... But some of those thing you did, like that thing at 2.30 and all of that,I did when I was 12!!! On the region(state)team we do so fucking hard training...OMG!!!!!
ok look, im 16 years old. 6'4 210lbs and i can move quick er than u do. on your video it shows really good kick but u can't even dive on it u just fall down. take a step and pressure your calfs and jump as high and rotate your legz in the air. im not giving u a lesson or im not telling you ur bad cuz your a good goal keeper tell your coaches to work on your feet,
So everything thing u said was not benefiting any body so keep your mouth shut u know nothing about football

ha i laugh at the people who are giving steve tips, when i guarentee he should be giving you tips, he and mitch hildebrandt were and currently are two of the top keepers in the ncaa to go along they have a great coach eric pogue, at a pretty prestigous soccer school and incase you werent aware steve is playing proffesional soccer in england

ha i honestly laugh at the people who are giving Steve tips when i guarantee he should be giving you tips, in-case you weren't aware Steve was one of the top keepers in the NCAA as was Mitch hildebrandt, and Eric pogue is a great keeper coach to go along with oaklands prestigious program, and in-case you weren't aware Steve is playing professional soccer in England

When you get up on the drill at 2:20 you use you hands don't you need to get up without using them but you're pretty good keeper. You have good agility.

Good response, speed and footwork. Just try to keep your feet closer together when you get behind the ball in case anything unexpected happens.

A este chico le hace falta tecnica a la hora de hacer la recepcion del balon abajo no flecciona la rodilla y al momento de levantarce para ir por el balon, debe de girar con la espalda. En lo demas anda bien.
