  • What a treat to see! Thank you for posting!!

  • This is real baseball,Winning the pennant!!! No divisions, no wildcards, and they scheduled doubleheaders,.A team played 162 games to make the playoffs???Hell no,they won the Amerian League Pennant. It really meant something back then.THEN you went to the World Series.Oh yeah,no free agency.Bring back the reserve clause. This is when it wasn't all about money.Games were vey affordable.I don't watch all this post season stuff nowadays. It waters down the pennant and the BS worldseries.

  • @GGE47 The 1968 World Series was the last "real" World Series in baseball. You had the the best in the American vs. the best in the National. That's what it should be. Today, with all the extra playoff games and the Wild card, you don't always get the 2 best teams.

  • @TheTweeter53 That is so true.I don't like the way they use so many pitchers in one game.Very few complete games. Also the length of the games.I saw a Red Sox Yankees game take 4:15 minutes in a 3-2 game.Even one of the announcers complained about it.There is no excuse for this.Ball parks being named after banks, insurance companies, and other corporations. All about money.I could go on and on about how unbaseball like today's game is.It is definately not about the fans.

  • @GGE47 Thanks for the comments! Baseball today is totally different than in 1968. I agree with everything you say. Even listening to games on the radio is different. They advertise every other pitch, and make it so you can't concentrate on the game.

  • This brings back memories, no tags at the bottom, "Coming up Next on Fox"

  • What i think is cool is George even interviewed the bat boy.

  • This is seriously amazing, what I find more remarkable this is in color while you see the 1968 World Series was in Black and White.

  • @SFFOOL76

No, the Series WAS broadcast in color, but NBC didn't save any of that, so the B&W footage we see is a kinescope - recorded on film rather than video tape, hence the crappy look and tinny sound.

  • Simply a wonderful group of guys. A truly amazing team!

  • Where can i find more spring training footage.
