Whatever you do DO NOT buy this phone or ANY other samsung rugged phones!!!! I had the B2100 and the screen cracked internally after 1 month and I had the B2710 and I dropped it onto carpet and the back case and the battery fell out. It's also been having faults.

Texting on this thing is a bit of a chore but all in all I'd say it's worth what you pay.
Nokia maked 3720Classic and its much bedder: Bigger screen, waterproof, flashlight, can take drop form 1m to hard solid and its cheap 100 - 170€ so fuck u samsung!
great phone. only thing i hate about it is the mp3 player software. you can't just play like a certain folder. you always need to create playlists which if you have more than 30 mp3s on your card

It's an 'ok' phone in my opinion. I am used to tough phones like the sonim xp1 (which is rubbish and expensive!) and the nokia 5500 sport (which is good) but i would like to have a phone that isn't just waterresistant, but actually can be fully submerged! And is it easy to use and simple in the menus? that's really what matters for me. I don't need any of that fancy stuff.

@dude2106 Texting is fine after you get used to the caps , space and word search keys because they are the reverse of Nokia phones. Also The screen is large and bright but if you spend a lot of time playing with the phone IE games , it will eat your battery. The folks at Samsung say 9 hours talk time , no more like 2 hours talk time and 14 hours stand by time. This is one of those phones you have to turn off and put on the charger every night.
It's even cheaper now - about 60-70 euros. Definitely going to buy this if I can't find a battery for my old Samsung. :) Thanks for the great review and tests - REALLY helpful. ^^
There isnt a screen saver like on nokias to tell you if you have a missed call, and the normal missed call notification is hidden by the "Kepad locked" message. The only way to see if you have a missed call is to unlock it. (unless anyone knows different) Not a major thing but a change from my usual nokia.
It has software, zou can install java apps, but would be cool if it had a better camera, bigger screen, Symbian OS and beside bluetooth also Infrared so I can install the Universal Remote Controll for TV, radios and more because They mostly are Infrared

nope. The sticker on the back said push/slide it off one way (towards the camera) and the manual said push/slide it off the other way. Minor issue is that neither way works! Am going to try a few local phone shops tomorrow.
Cheers - discovered that when I used a different coin to turn it. I was using a penny originally and due to its size, once it reached the 90 degrees it wouldn't go further as the edge was preventing the back popping up. I used a 5p later and, due to it being smaller, the lock went further round and the back popped up. Cheers for the help guys.
I just have a little question, hope someone can answer me: Is it possible to store the SMS messages on the (optional) SDCard? Or is the sms storage limited to the 200+sim card as stated on the specifications?

It truly is awesome. I've had it out kayaking with it in a zipper pocket on the buoyancy aid (with a lanyard attached so I don't loose it if I drop it whilst answering a call). Salt water doesn't sem to affect it as long as you give it a rinse off once back to shore. It has also survived some wild runs on the mountain bike. Next test is some rock climbing! (lanyard hook useful here - it's a tad tricky to dig a phone out of your pocket from under a harness!!!)

It's an 'ok' phone in my opinion. Turn the silver release passed 90 degrees and the back will pop up slightly
