Great sound Rob. I never though anybody could pull off Kashmir without having the Mellotron but you did a great job.
When I was a teenager back in the Jurassic age my brother Bob 10 years older than me, came home with a 1967 Fender Coronado XII the hollow body 12 string Fender, got it at a garage sale for $20. But he sold it to pay for beer or something.
I never quite forgot that but I did forgive him, eventually. Haha.
lol!! Those were the days! I'm 44 and started playing guitar at a very early age. i remember my dad coming back from work with a sunburst Tele with a nice yellowish binding. He said that he rented it from this store see if i'd like to try an electric guitar (up to then i was playing acoustic) This was 1974 and of course it was a pre-CBS Tele Custom. I kept it for a few months, then ask my father to buy it, but he thought that $250 was too much for an old guitar and got me a brand new Kay.oh well
The guitar sound is a bit low, but the video is great and from what I can hear, this sounds awesome. I love the guitar aswell, where do you get these nowadays?
Thanks Dave!! I needed something really full sounding since there's so much stuff on the original, so the open tuning and the 12 made it. It sounds a bit like a garage version of the original, but a garage with an electric door i guess :D
Thanks!! I guess we should, but we're so lazy dude. Hell, we consider ourselves lucky if have a rehearsal once a year lol!! We just do these gigs for fun and let some steam off. We basically get drunk and jam.... But you never know we might do it. we already recorded some stuff (just go to our unklegroove MS page) and have a few other that i still have to mix.
Totally agree with you!! It's the best compliment you can give me and i thank you for that. R&R is about attitude, not how fast and clean you can play those 16th note.
Taking chance is the only way you can grow as a musician. Sure i make mistakes, a lots of them, and maybe we try stuff a bit to elaborate for a simple trio format (Our homage to Rick Wright playing a good part of "The Dark Side of the Moon" without keyboards comes to mind) but so did my idols. So why not!! ;)
Thank you so much Stephano that's very kind!! I a shame that most of my YT friends live so far away, we could have this massive jam!! wouldn't that be cool!!
Thanks Paul!! Yeah, they're pretty scarce did them for about 2 years. I got it because that's what Pete Townshend was using in the studio at some point, and of course Jimmy used one for Stairway to Heaven... but i'll never play that song!! lol!!
lol!! Merci Max!!
Thanks!! Yeah, i love that tuning, and considering the fullness of the original and us just being three, it fills the sound and J-F bass playing on that one is amazing.
It's far from perfect, but we had a great time doing it.
Yeah i agree could have been slower, but like i said on another comment in french. That place was packed, there was a lineup and they were refusing people at the door. So when we got on stage we just went for it the whole night playing 3 over and hour sets, plus a bunch of encores. You have no idea how much whiskey and beers we drank that night just to lower our level of adrenalin lol!! Plus, it was our first go at it, not really certain we would pull if off..in those cases you better play fast!
Man, you guys can play and sing anything and pull if off...guitar sounds amazing. Again...hot vocals. Drums and bass...fantastic.

Hi Robert! Nice sound!
How do you tune Electric XII. It seems to me, that it's tuned whole step lower. Am I right?
barabaka90 2 years ago
Thanks!
Almost, i'm tuned to DADGAD (Low to high). That's the tuning Page used on it as well as a few other songs.
