  • Really is pretty straight forward to get this sort of bhp from a ctr folks. Bolt ons, cams and a good ecu map will see it.:) This was a very clean, fast ep3, think it ended up at 260bhp after this.

  • The max out of a N/A is 330hp to 340hp thats with everythink maxed out on the engine.

    thats from a honda tuning place who only do k20 engines.

    costs £6000 for the 330hp N.A engine.

    and turbo k20 engines with over 530hp for around £12000

  • I can't decided between the EK9 and EP3. I mean they both look sick. The EK9 is around 100+ KG lighter and it's smaller and uses the B16 with 185HP or do I go with the EP3 which is heavier, bigger and uses the K20 with 197HP.

    I plan on modding, most likely turboing whichever one I buy, but which is the easiest to mod?

    Lighter EK. Well it really depends on the pwr to weight ratio, how much it cost and how much youre going to mod it, but yea, focus on the pwr to weight ratio. Again i would go with the lighter cars.

  • @29ryan49 EK9 simple because you can always swap a K-series engine in it and be that much faster and regardless of what you do it's alot easier to work in the engine bay of an EK than an EP because half the engine is under the windshieild and cowling.

  • @charles91209 not many ep3 on the streets? you serious they are everywhere! Interesting that this guy is at 253bhp, what kind of mods have you done to reach that kind of power? ive raced an ep3 n/a at 245bhp and the list of mods were as follows:-

    cone filter, bigger intake manifold, exhaust manifold, decat, exhaust, hondata ecu. Still wasnt very quick but did sound the part.

  • @miniator he didnt say it was an english car... he said it was a ukdm (UK domestic car) meaning the car was built for the british market as apposed to a car built for the japenese market (jdm) or a car built for a european country. of course its not an english car... its a japanese manufacturer, but the car was intended for our market

  • This is UKDM, end of argument.

    It's UKDM as it was built for the UK MARKET. Its UKDM not because it was designed here, but because its purpose is to be sold to the UK market.

    You could only class it as JDM, if it was the exact same as those sold in Japan. It doesnt have the Recaro's or LSD so it's not even close. It also isnt EDM due to different countries driving on different sides of the road etc..... plus many od Europes are badged as Si's etc.

  • ye N/A cars cost a bomb to tune up a lot. u rly gta be a N/A addict to go down that path lol. althought a k20 engine is pretty near the best n/a engine of all in my opinion for its size. turbos can get big power easy. like i had a glanza and spent a grand and a half adding a td04 turbo kit and engine management and got 230odd bhp at 1 bar on stock internals safely. but turbo + vtec = car that will rape anything lol.

  • well they are not designed in made in the UK. the design work is in done in japan and almost all the parts are made in japan. The cars are put together in the UK but almost everything has to be shipped form japan. the only reason that the JDM cars a better is Honda don't that that the JDM cars will sell outside japan. they believe that the JDM cars type r's are to hardcore to be sold anywhere else. altho the now FD2 is being sold in Malaysia

    The Si has 197bhp but 7 less ft-lbs of torque and more weight but thats because the Si is available only in a coupe and saloon/sedan. There is no Si in u.k but we have the Type s which has 160bhp.

  • I think you should check your facts and read up on the american 2006- Si civic, it is very similar to the type-R and is nothing like a base model.

    it is equipped with a k20z3 197hp 139lb.ft torque, engine. almost identical to the engine in the ep3 type-R! it´s a very well equipped car and as I stated even has an lsd on top of all.

    2 of my friends have type-R´s and I love them. and the 2001-2005 SI civic is 160hp it is i-vtec and dohc but it has a econo vtec not the high lift vtec.

    but as I stated the 2006- civic SI is a 197hp car and it has got and lsd it is available as a coupe and a 4door has now been added. as I said befor you should read alittle about the car befor you start calling people names, and making yourself look like a dick!

    FA5 - 2006-2008 Civic Si (Sedan) - K20Z3

    those are the cars I am talking about, and they don´t have to be type-R´s to have the 197hp engine, it´s also available in those 2006- Si civics, and the csx type-S and Rsx-S acuras. now stop arguing about something you obviously know little about and do as I told you in the first place and read up on the civic then come back!
