I DO think there is a tendency for people to be too afraid of upsetting muslims but even some muslims themselves, like the writer/journalist Yasmin Alibai-Brown, have voiced their opinions about that. Yes, I'm sure some farmers poison foxes, but then a lot of them were in favour of fox-hunting too!

Then there's the free travel for hoodie gangs...great idea, and to tackle them we've community support officers who have more time off sick than working! I agree with you about the bendy buses, but I think there is talk about doing away with those. The idea behind it was good (to get more ppl onto public transport), but they are too dangerous. I agreed with him about 4by4's. No doubt KensigntonKatie would like London to become jam-packed with them and for us all to breathe in the 'car fart' that they emit. Wonderful! Getting around on buses before the congestion charge came in was horrendous. Buses were often at a stndstill down Oxford Street!

It was sad to see Ken go after he's done so much for London. The congestion charge was unpopular, but somebody had to try and do something about the pollution. As a person who doesn't drive I can now get from A to B on the bus without the roads being over-clogged with cars! Ken always fought for lower fares too. Last but no least, let's not forget that the GLC under Ken Livingstone built the impressive Thames Barrier! Now we have a toff in office, and probably another one (Cameron) on the way.

Livingstone wakes up every day thinking 'how many rules and regulations can I make today to make Londoner's lives even more miserable than they are'. Ken has done an excellent job in London, improved transport, the police, the environment. He has put pride back into this diverse and wonderful city. He has done this by being independent minded, consulting with Londoners and by being an ordinary bloke rather than a Politician (with a capital P). Look forward to 4 more years of progress. Then perhaps it will be time for a change, and as a democrat, I hope the Tories put up a realistic candidate and not another joker.

i detest ken. they say he brought us the olympics... i say seb coe brought us the olympics, and he's a tory! ken just gives positions of power to his cronies. do not let him stay in office to turn our great city into a socialist experiment. london will only go downhill if ken is still in office after may 1st. vote boris.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Mayor Livingstone and can honestly say he's a total gent. I for one think its fantastic that we have a socialist like Ken standing who does not and will not take orders or tow the New Labour party line. My vote is going to KL, though my constituency MP is George Galloway, whom i've also met and can confirm is a lovely guy, despite the bad press. With that in mind, i must say i'm tempted to vote Left List candidate Lindsey German but am not sure.

Fair play to you Steve. Galloway speaks more sense than he is given credit for. He stood against economic sanctions on Iraq as 500,000 innocent children died as a result, and was smeared as a Saddam lover. He and Ken were both called pinko lefty liberals for marching against the war, 2 million Londoners joined them. Look how right they were. The Olympics will not cost London as much as feared. If it improves London as much as it did Barcelona, I'm all for it
