Sure do. Those who I work with enjoy the part where if they decide that they want to try a long weapon instead of the short one they own...all they need is about 10 dollars and an hour and a half. With just that they can have their own new weapon. One that came from them...made by their own hands. I would have it no other way. There is nothing like wielding something that from concept to finish is truly yours. My brothers are craftmen all. Built from heart, not simply bought with money.
Perhaps though making latex weapons is not that difficult if perhaps a bit more expensive, I can't imagine the feeling of doing some like a Ring of Death without weapons that like look like such, or a night of long knives without any daggers.
Though the fighting style with the boffing weapons is slightly more appealing, being able to jab people would make combat a lot more interesting.
On Amtgard fields we've found that most latex weapons shread into worthless weapons in a very short span of time. A boffer weapon can be made for very little money and lasts quite a while longer before needing to be re-foamed.

Mind you this is not the only way to build one but it is how I build one, and I feel they are safe. And Yes...This is a Endless suply of fun. at the same time you build a skill, you lear better hand-eye-cordination, and it's way better than Jazzerscise.
how come if I use the PVC insulator it looks alot thinner than it should be?
I get a little frustrated and end up using poolnoodle instead. I have been playing for about 2 years now and I made a flat blade. You should try making one! That would be interesting as a vid!
