One notorious bully noticed me standing next to him and I flinched, and he took off running a few years ago. I think bulliying sucks, but the cavalier attitude toward suicide is the issue. I feel sorry for this kid in his middle school life. It not funny to pick on a kid who has a disease and call him names. He had to suffer through so much, im glad he's making friends now.
As a 9th grade school teacher, I see this problem getting worse and worse. The kids think they can say anything and that the other person will just take it as a joke, or that they didn't mean any harm when they said it. But it does hurt. I think the real lesson here should be to teach kids that if they don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Some of the old sayings are still very relevant today.

As for your post, I don't completely disagree with it. However, you are telling us things, we already know. Considering you have at least a graduate degree in secondary education, lets try to be at the very least original. You can explain to a child all you want "If you don't have anything to say, don't say it at all' yeah right, good luck that one, LOL. Also, 9th grades when they say something derogatory, it's for a reason. I'm guessing to provoke a fight.
Here is what we need to do, in my opinion. Start taking these cases to court which seems to be happening. However, no harsh charges are being brought against bullying, at least not yet. Once a case comes to light, where a bully receives a very harsh sentence, I guarantee the percent of bullying statistics will decrease by a substantial amount. That being said, we should also hold the school, and teachers accountable 100% if they had any knowledge what so ever of an assault.
last year i was bullied so much that i would come home and stare at the kitchen knife deciding wether i should end it all. Then one day this bitch turned around in her chair, called my best friend gay because his voice never matured yet and called me stupid because I failed my test. That made me so pissed off because i have ADD and can never concentrate. So i looked her im the eye and say "at least im not fat" and guess what? she never talked to me again. :)

@4squaredby4times4 i did that. i always fought for myself against bullies and they would leave me alone for a couple of months and then they came back. but it started to get to exhausting so i left it to the teachers and it eventually went away with less effort

At this point hes crying like a little pussy and i felt amazing i then procceeded to get ontop of him and litterally cut his face apart.

This kid is almost the same as me. I was terribliy bullied, my life was terrible, and my life shattered before my eyes when I almost took a knife out of my kitchen drawr and stabbed myself. That kind of cruelty is taught and encouraged in the home. It seems to me that parents of cruel children, children who haze and taunt other children (and sometimes adults) who are crippled or disfigured in any way, teach their children how to be evil to others. They sit them down on a daily basis and instruct them on how to make others miserable. Seriously.

As a 9th grade school teacher, I see this problem getting worse and worse. The kids think they can say anything and that the other person will just take it as a joke, or that they didn't mean any harm when they said it. But it does hurt. I think the real lesson here should be to teach kids that if they don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Some of the old sayings are still very relevant today.

Considering you have at least a graduate degree in secondary education, lets try to be at the very least original. Here is what we need to do, in my opinion. Start taking these cases to court which seems to be happening. However, no harsh charges are being brought against bullying, at least not yet. Once a case comes to light, where a bully receives a very harsh sentence, I guarantee the percent of bullying statistics will decrease by a substantial amount. That being said, we should also hold the school, and teachers accountable 100% if they had any knowledge what so ever of an assault.

Then one day this bitch turned around in her chair, called my best friend gay because his voice never matured yet and called me stupid because I failed my test. That made me so pissed off because i have ADD and can never concentrate. So i looked her im the eye and say "at least im not fat" and guess what? she never talked to me again. :)
