At this point though, sorry for the skepticism but I find it a little difficult to believe that there is such a thing as good rap.

the Roots, A tribe called quest, Black Star, Little Brother, instrumental music Dj Shadow, J Dilla, Nujabes or alternative rap: Madvillain, Deltron 3030, Aesop Rock, the Streets or classic: Common, Nas, Kanye West, Pete Rock, Lupe Fiasco, Masta Ace...

My main problem with rap (and some other styles like techno and such) is that it is from the stuff I have heard entirely electronic or mosty electronic, and I really don't like electronic, programmed music, the reason being that however well composed electronic sounds don't play with emotion. To me music is all about emotion, and without emotion, any composition is a lost cause.

It is still played by a person, maybe I generalized rap i dunno, because I don't listen all that much, but from what I have heard it's all sound programming, which doesn't have a person actually playing it.
