Applying a Texturizer or S Curl to Black Hair Part One

I love you! Your personality is so vibrant. I watch Forensic Files too! glad I stumbled upon your videos, they've been a big help! I've had the short (half tapered) hair for almost 2 years and I'm ready to cut it all off and do the texturizer because I dnt have stereotypical "good hair." My question is..can I cut my relaxed hair down to the new growth and immediately texturize or do I have to cut low and grow a fro?

I have the S-Curl Activator. but I don't have the S-curl texturizer maximum strength. Do I need to get S-Curl Texturizer max strength and use it on my hair, then put the activator moisture in my hair? Cause I put the activator moisture in my hair after i wash it but then it drys out and then I don't have curls.

@Flameriderfem57 the back must be an easy part for your hair . dont panic. the back should return to normal in time. you probably left it in too long back there. if you wish you can try shampooing the hair (the back) with a regular shampoo, wash it and leave it over night with nothing in it...alot of times that helped my hair "go back". and in time it will "nap back up" for lack of a better word

@thatbmxguyXP i think you left it in too long maybe or used a stronger str. than needed? but dont put it in again. just wait for the hair to turn back to the "natural state" . if you put it in again it's only going to make it straighter. once the hair is back to it's natural state then you can re-apply. this time dont keep it in as long and maybe downgrade the strength a lil ----tytytytyty!

miamivice i live in an area where men dont even wear the s curl mostly women do and i ask alot of guys why, they usually say because its to unmanagable but i really want to give a try y'know, and i wanted to know how to manage it and how much money to mintain the look. oh and do you get a blowout before or after the process?

@sdkjoker2 ty. usually 2-4 weeks . .you will see a gradual change in the curl...in other words it will gradually wear off. it wont look bad , just not as fresh. new growth from the root will start to come in. it may wear off faster the more you wash it. also if you sweat alot youll be washing your hair probably more frequently. youll know when it wears off because you'll notice the natural curl will start to come back more no matter how much activator you put in. (maybe 4 weeks mark)

i used the lusters s curl extra strength texturizer that comes in the boxed kit, and it didnt work for me. i applied the texturizer cream just like you did and combed back like you did.But i skipped the neutralizing shampoo because i thought shampooing would remove the wavy pattern that i got.So i just rinsed, after i rinsed it didnt look as i expected it to look like. Barely any curls. Then i applied the styling gel and spray and still no curls....just wet nappy hair. PLEASE HELP..

Four things: When our hair is extremely dry and brittle, we need to be finding ways to get water on it.When West African genes rule, we need water on our hair much of the time.A moisturizer is only good to HOLD the moisture in.

Also important to get off ALL dead hairs off .Comb and brush.Gently pull off the dead solders.Light trimming with a Bic shaver is a cool alternative to hacking it off.Last, rub conditioner onto the hair before.

@Chekirows ..Hi well S curl is not good for people with long hair. Seven inches is pretty long for something like that. It was originally designed for shorter hair. If you are just trying to relax some of the tightness in your hair you could probably run it through there but don't expect curly hair. That's what the jherri curl stuff like hawaiin silky, care free curl etc was made for hair your length (which is hair that can be rolled) Hope this helps.

@MrFatman2334 just shampoo regular. but if youre looking to go back to natural hair, just put in your regular products, no activator, after shampooing....the hair will return to its original texture on it's own...trust me. ---scurl makes sure of that so u will keep buying their product :p
