@moo2thetube Interpretations vary, but the most common one I've heard is a older rich man seducing a male prostitute. I've also heard it had something to do with Apple Records. Neither one seems plausible to me. I'm sure Paul had something else in mind.
This is more like it ! you know there are people like me who have seen macca a dozen times or more ! we don't want hey jude, long and boring road, let me roll it,jet mystery tour, let it be and hello goodbye ! we want the world tonight, venus and mars,hi hi hi,goodnight tonight, take it away, smile away, back seat of my car, temporary secatary, cafe on the leftbank, listen what the man said, every night, she's a woman, all things must pass, eight days a week, fine line, birthday and let the fans vote !
@MrRockenrudy McCartney recorded a solo demo of the song on July 24, 1969, when he arrived early for an Abbey Road session. He sang the double-tracked lead vocal and played all the instruments: he sang and played piano on the first take, sang again and played maracas on the first overdub, drums came third and bass guitar was added last. It took less than an hour to finish. The demo appears on various bootlegs. It was officially released in 1996 on The Beatles Anthology 3.
@MrRockenrudy On August 2, 1969, McCartney presented his demo to Apple band Badfinger (then called The Iveys) telling them, "Okay, it's got to be exactly like this demo." His "carrot" for the band was his offer to produce this song and two other Iveys originals for the movie The Magic Christian, since he had a contract to supply three songs for it. The band followed his instructions.
Come and get it.
Il "First Time Live" era riferito a Paul. Ciao Andrea
¡Caramba!
Amazing. I've always wanted to hear Paul perform "Come and Get It" live! And now he has. I know he's performed in the U.S. quite often, but I hope he comes back again very soon (and performs this song).
@August8th1969 Incorrect. Paul's never performed 'Come and Get It' live in front of an audience. He did the demo and gave it to Badfinger. That's it.
@MiddSouthFootball09 / I realize that. I never said Macca had performed "Come and Get It" live. Italy was the 1st time. I said I know he has performed many times live in the US (NOT that he had ever performed "Come and Get it" live). My point was that we in the US are a little spoiled as Paul has played here so often. But I just hope he comes back here again so he might play this song live to a US audience for the fist time. I know the history behind the song.
I agree! You guys are so lucky - I love this song! I hope he comes back to the US and sings this and All you need is love! Thanks for posting...........
He sounds great here. And sorry, Yellist, but Paul's singing is not "perfect" anymore. For goodness sake, he's going to be 70!!! Of course he doesn't sound like he did at 20 or 30 or 40. The point is, he still sounds damn good, if occasionally rough. LEGEND.
@TheMrosin He sounded great when i saw him live, and his voice didn`t crack once like it did here. I think Pauls voice is extremely good at almost 70!
@newyorktown Yeah, but he played it too slow... It should have been done faster. And his voice cracked at the higher notes, That`s unusual for Paul. Maybe he had a bad night or something. His singing is usually perfect.
@Echtorach64 Beatiiiiiiiiii.
Ho sempre pensato che Come and get it sia stata composta da Paul in incognito....
LUCIO DALLA-BOCCIATO!!!! Se lo sogna un concerto del genere!!!!
No, first time ever. Paul (or mgmt) decided to give this song to Badfinger and never released or even cut this track with the rest of the Beatles, as far as I know. I'd love to hear Paul's original ('67-'68?) demo for the tune.
Cashing in on Badfinger...as well as the Beatles

@Yellyist _ his voice does not crack anywhere in this. He maybe hits a few notes a little flat here and there but his voice does not crack.
He's always had that low, almost nasal tone to his voice. Remember "Great to be here in Washington" from the Beatles first US concert. Same voice.
