  • the guy tahts saying martin was the first is wrong ....epiphone is the oldest guitar co...and who owns epiphone lol.....

  • man you guys are crazy gibson rules hands down ,thats why there the greatest guitar co, yeah these are great guitars for possers...what you all are saying is blapheme ..you better get on your knees and pray for for, givingness from yhe guitar god ..gibson...my 1917 l1 will blow these guitars ,if thats what u wanna call them.

  • Oh people...first of all.Taylor is not better than Martin nor is Martin better than Taylor. Each one has a DIFFERENT tone for DIFFERENT types of music. If you want that bright tone go for a Taylor, if you want a more mellow tone go for Martin. It depends on what you want.

  • yuck...a guy I know just spent US$1500 on a Martin. Worst sounding axe i've ever heard. All midrange honk...no character at all.

  • well, i could say it's a 114e because the 214e has a WHITE plastic blinding not black,, but , just wondering

  • Taylors are so GOOD!!! martins, l'arrivées and more, can't even compete with TAYLOR

  • Thats right Taylor is about the best out there!

  • @ZombieDesertDeities lol try out mcphersons THOSE are the best

  • @TheTaylord17 LOL You can talk up your Taylor all you want. Keep dreaming.

  • blasphemer

  • @TheTaylord17 Taylor maybe good but you def have a hard ear of tone. Martin blows anything Taylor has. Try a Taylor 314, then play a Martin 000-16 or the same style and specs. If you cant hear a difference than you are tone def. The Martin is louder and clearer and when you plug it up, you can hear the actual real tone of the guitar. Taylor has a problem with making all their guitars sound the same plugged up. Plus, the market "handcrafted", thats a lie! All of it is factory made.

  • @randommiker Like everyone says..its just great marketing and over priced material for what it is. You a want nice axe for bang of the buck?...get a Martin, Breedlove or a Epiphone Masterbilt EF series for Folk. The Masterbilt makes the Taylor sound like a joke. Before you bang a guitar...turn your hearing aid up and actually strum the thing. ;)

  • Taylor has got nothing on Martin, and I mean nothing! Martin makes the finest acoustic guitars in the world. I needn't argue that so don't bloody try.

  • Taylors are a much better guitar then a martin. Guild is also a better guitar then Martin too! Martins sound way to tinny!

  • @ZombieDesertDeities LOL Martin are not tinny. Martin is know for their deep bass, and even balance sound. Martins have a lot of ring. Ring is not tinny. Taylor is the most over rated guitar on the Market. One of my guitars I own is a Blueridge BR-160. I'll put up against any Taylor made.

  • @ZombieDesertDeities My 1969 Martin 00028 sounds like heaven on earth. All ranges of tones rock, and its like a cannon. I can't imagine a better axe.

  • @ZombieDesertDeities

you are smokin crack dude. i normally don't comment on videos or other peoples comments but when i saw you say martins are too tinny i felt the need to chime in. taylor is the tinniest guitar out there!! taylor is nowhere close to being better than a martin. there is a reason why martin has been around so long, cuz they are the best. they know how to incorporate modern technology and construction while keeping the tone and martin sound that we all love.....

  • @ZombieDesertDeities Keep smoking you're dope, and popping you're pills. Taylor is a piece of shit. Martins are not tinny. Guild are junk since they are longer made in the USA. I beileve they was made in Ohio. Now they are Jap,China, junk.

  • @ZombieDesertDeities You are full of shit. Taylor uses wood screws and shims in there necks to hold them on.Taylor isn't smart enough to know how to curve them right. In some Taylor lower line. They have no back bracing in them. No wonder they fall apart and sound like shit.

  • I played over 20 Martins at the Arlington guitar show and only one actually sounded good. The Eric Clapton model that is. Taylors are really well built and sound really good. I believe that for the money, Taylor and Seagull guitars are the best for anybody's money. Now early 80s Gibson SJ200s sound ridiculously good. Oh and I love what you said about Gibsons. They suck ass.

  • You've obviously got me confused with someone else. I made no comment regarding Gibson guitars. The SJ200 is a canon and I love it.

  • My bad. I meant for that thing about Gibsons to go to the video poster but forgot I was still replying to you. But yeah. The SJ200 is amazing. How about them Maton guitars though. Those sound really nice.

  • @latta4

Which is better? The Taylor...or the Martin?

Theres only one way to find out...FIGHT!!!!

  • @winterlandboy Martin has been here since 1833 for a reason. The oldest guitar company today in business.

  • you better reserch ur history better ..epiphone is the oldest bubba....

  • @menangeldemon You're full of shit, Martin is the oldest guitar company still on the market today. Epiphone has not been around since 1833. Epiphone is made by Gibson. which is Gibson lower model. So how is Epiphone older then Gibson? So you're the one that needs to learn you're history. You're a dumb ass

  • @bluegrasssingingman hey u better study ur history better the fact is epiphone was around way before gibson...too u need to do ur research better ....and martin's great for playin that posser shit like HEY U DELIAH IM A FAGOT I HOPE U FIND A MAN ..THAN I WANT BE SO BLUE..dude u need to grow some balls .lmao

  • @menangeldemon Look you are wrong, Gibson bought out Epiphone 1957 . Martin has been around since 1833, and they are the oldest guitar company still in buisness today. Martin invented the dread guitar, prewar scallopped bracing, standard scallopped bracing, Hyrid scallopped bracing. A LSH. Martin invented the A frame bracing. Martin guitars are the mosted copied guitar in History. Nobody copies Epiphone. Epiphone is copies of Gibson, why because they are a Gibson. Gibson owns Epiphone.

  • @menangeldemon I don't recall saying a thing about you being a faggot. So stay in the closet you sick fuck. Epiphone is owned by Gibson, because Epiphone could not compeat. Martin is older then Gibson. Since you are slow. I'll tell one once again. 1957 Gibson bought out Epiphone. Martin since 1833. Gibson is not that old. Epiphone is not that old. Epiphone is a Gibson lower line model. Epiphone is not the same company, They are made by Gibson. They are China made junk. Obama and you related?

  • @bluegrasssingingman ur the 1 that needs to study harder on guitars ...epiphone was the first guitar co, they was around even before gibson .....go look it up and than see who the dumb ass is ...

  • @menangeldemon You are the one thats is wrong. You can all the China made junk you want.

  • @menangeldemon You are the one that is wrong. You can have all the China made junk you want. Epiphone is one of the biggest piece of shits made today.

  • Well i changed the Elixir strings for a Thomastik AC111 Light Plectrum strings and wow, it sound so woody, even lauder now, i also put som bone britch pins, is an diferent guitar now, realy a grat guitar

  • Hi, escuse my bad english. I got mine one month ago and i love it, is balanced and loud and easy to play, i'm very happy with mine 214 GA, but... i wonder it has not a truss rod, mi question is if the Taylors don't need one couse there so good made ore should i have an special care about the neck, thanks in advance for any answer

  • No the Taylors don't need them because they are made in a way that the body and the neck are one peace and only look as if they have a neck joint for astetic appeal.

  • Ah ok, thanks a lot, i love my Taylor a lot more now :-)

  • The 214 has an adjustable truss rod under the plate on the headstock

  • Yes I forgot about it, it dose have them but the way Taylor makes there guitars it is almost not needed!

  • It depends on how well the guitar is set up when you get it, what the string weight is when you get it vs. what you play with etc. Every new guitar needs a set up after purchase, if you haven't had one its worth paying for. Even $10,000 need a good set up on occasion.

  • Also, the 100 and 200 series Taylors have bolt on necks designed to look like solid.

  • i am gonna try those on my taylor too, thanks for the tip

  • No problem I will make a video about them to to see how many people I can get to buy them!

  • i hope you ditch the crappy elixir strings that come on taylors and put some good ones on

  • I only play Martin Marqius strings. I played for 28 years and also for 4 years I did some street musican stuff when I got my masters in music at UC Boulder in Colorado. I found and tried about every sting I could, because I played everyday for 12 to 14 hours on the street and the only strings I found that I could tear into even when it got down to 31F degrees was Martin Marqius.

  • what the heck? I dont get it.

  • Just my guitar you don't need to get it!

  • The only complant's I have about this guitar is that it dosn't have the expression system in it, it plays very quiet through the amp with just the bridge pick up, and it has no controls for tone or volume.

Oh and they put the batterie for the electronic's inside the body so I have to take the strings off to change the batterie, thats perty stupid right there.

I wanted the 514CE but even this $2300 guitar plays good! Much better then anything else out there. The action is so low.
