Best song on Pet Sounds, I love the percussion in the outro. Stunning, outrageous, words fail me. The descending bass line, the truly amazing strings and harmonies. I suspend my atheism.
I heard some of the Beach Boys' earlier records that were in stereo, can' t remember the title, but it was in phoney stereo. This is where you have all vocals in one channel & instrumentation in the other. This was the only possible stereo with the earlier recordings that were only intended to be released in mono until digital recording came about. Thank god they didn't do this with Pet Sounds until 1996, & this proves that it was worth the wait.
I kinda wanna send a letter thanking Brian Wilson for creating this song. Seriously.

Pet Sounds is eternal. I was 15 when this came out. I thought Brian was a God and Carl was an Angel. I may have been right.
