The ever-modest producer (that means he came up with the concept of recording Joe with Roy) Ralph Jungheim gets a taste at 0.20. Thanks for bringing these two giants together, Ralph.
Beautiful playing by master musicians. Roy's melody playing, overall approach and sound, reminds me of George Barnes, if you know who he was. Joe is one of my idols . . . RIP.
Sweet Jesus- what a pair of Masters, let,s just call it what it is- melodic advancement at it's finest. Would LOVE to purchase a DVD of the entire series of days it took to create, something very special indeed!
Keep pickin that Heritage Roy. Us Kzoo people are proud of you for doing it. I know Rendall & JP are too!! I spend alot of time pluckin my [Birdsong]bass along with you on Youtube.
i think thats probably because joe pass was basically a walking metronome, and few guitarists generally speaking kept time as good as he could. they are both different stylistically which is probably why he swings more
SWEET !! : )

Clark was one of the best things on HeeHaw besides the blonde in the red halter top. Come on I was 15 yrs old!

Roy Clark was unappreciated as a guitarist, probably because of HeeHaw.

Amazing! But I think Joe Pass is better in doing Chord Melodies... or comping.. Or maybe I'm just biased. :)
