Of course, Steve Perry is a noticeable measure better than Arnel. No doubt about that. I saw them both. But Steve Perry didn't keep singing to 40 years old, and the story goes that Steve pretty much left the band hanging. Later, he admitted that he didn't want to continue anyway, so it wasn't like he was coming back. The rest of the band were lifer musicians, so what were they supposed to do? I wish them well.

Arnel wanted to back out of the job offer 2 minutes before their concert in Chile. It was quite hilarious when Cain told the story. Arnel ask Cain to just give him a plane ticket home to the Philippines. Cain said no.

@errcycoo For a talent less artist, Pineda sure does make a lot of money. His net worth as of 2008 was 13 million. That was then, now his net worth is 15 million. The more years he works with journey, the more his net worth rose. This is unheard of new lead singers in bands, in general.

But Steve Perry didn't keep singing to 40 years old, and the story goes that Steve pretty much left the band hanging. Later, he admitted that he didn't want to continue anyway, so it wasn't like he was coming back. The rest of the band were lifer musicians, so what were they supposed to do? I wish them well.

@NoSteveHasReturned I assumed as much already. They don't really care about Journey....only the fact that there is a Filipino fronting the band at the moment. As soon as Neil gets another sound-a-like that is not Filipino, then they will not like Journey anymore....you wait and see. ;)

Selling out 70% of a concert tour that consists mostly on county fairs, state fairs and touring with other bands HARDLY qualifies for an outstanding success. When SP was with Journey, they did not have to rely on those tactics which are usually followed by washed up bands. They have not played nearly half the venues Journey is used to, with Arnel. WAKE UP.

@StephenD1967 Actually they have been in radio stations in NY promoting their Eclipse album. They were also on Oprah, they were on Ellen, Today Show, CBS, GMA, and I can go on and on. Arnel sounding like Perry means he is that good. Arnel can sound not only like Perry. He can sound like Sting, Axel Rose, I can go on and on. Besides Perry's voice is not original either. It doesn't matter what Steve was doing before he made Journey famous, something Arnel cannot do, just riding Steve's success, trying to sound like Steve. Steve Perry cannot go back to Journey. He lost his vocal cords and also gain too much weight and had hip problem. Last time I saw him on Youtube, He look like Donald Trump.
