Stopped the building for 10 months? Yes, but that will begin again. And what of land already stolen. Israel is a theocratic state with ambitions to restore the old borders of an imaginary Davidic kingdom. But other people were already there. Christians and Muslims even Samaritans are second class citizens in Israel.

the religious authority is responsible only for marriage and divorces (and that affects only jews).
the laws of israel are influenced by the religion, but in tiny details, such as choosing Saturday as the national resting day, or not presenting Chametz during Passover in public places with jewish majority (bullshit).
