I enjoyed the conversations between the head and the lab assistant. Think about that: a lab assistant with a withered arm having philosophical debates with a disembodied head! And all the while a mutant Frankenstein's monster thing is lurking in the closet. Yeah, this movie kicks ass.

The original that I saw in the 60' shows the monster at the end ripping the doctor's arm off.

Seems to me there was an alternative version of this flick; instead of the hoodoo in the closet, there was a row of disembodied arms hanging along the stairs leading down into the lab. Controlled by the Head That Wouldn't Die, it was the hanging arms that eventually did the good doctor in. Creepiest horror movie ending ever, with the head begging to be buried (I still get goose bumps). Am I thinking of another film? If not, that was certainly a better version than this.
