Well I could have told you that theres some water on the moon. Its there simply because any microscopic particles which escape the earth's gravity can land on the Moon, especially during the full moon phase, when the solar wind may blow it in that direction. The moon is covered with a dust also which is the ash from Earth.

For decades tycho crater and other features are in exact same orientation upon moon rise, full moon. Upon moon rise it has never changed, the craters didn't suddenly shift from 6oclock to three oclock. Every aspect of the moon has changed, I mean every single aspect. From orientation, to plane of orbit, to luminosity. Nothing is the same, Nothing! But let's just leave it at "youre right"

@Bpeirce2 From the central U.S. the Tycho crater appears at around 3-4 o'clock on the lunar face at Moonrise. It is in the Moon's "southern highlands". That means it would be oriented away from Polaris at Moonrise- which it is. Exactly where do YOU think Tycho is supposed to appear?

@Bpeirce2 OK. I was able to post the URL. That shows the Moon with its proper north/south orientation. At Moonrise, in the central U.S. that would put the moon's north pole to the left and Tycho to the right. Exactly what do you think is wrong with that orientation? Please be specific.

Second, what that paper says is that the eccentricity of the moon is off by 0.000000000009/year . Are you saying your astronomer is able to see such a discrepancy with his eyes?

Venus is being very bright because it's currently the "Evening Star". Ask your astronomer, perhaps he's heard of that phenomenon and can explain to the group...

@d5uncr You can measure Polaris' position. Find it is easy. Bottom two stars of "big Dipper" point at it, It's measures five increminents away from the big dipper using the two bottom stars as the measure. Using protractor and string you can get a rough idea how many degrees above horizon it is. Should be equal to your latitude. Don't take our word for it. See it yourselves people. Margin of error is roughly five degrees using this method. The Sky Don't Lie!

I have been observing these changes also, as well as the magnetic north. There has been a lot of fluctuations in the readings, as much as 10 deg. west in the am and 4 deg. in the pm! I suspect the pole position has a lot to do with what we are seeing with the lunar position.

I am a mechanic, not a scientist, but these are changes I see that are not being addressed on mainstream media! THAT worries me, more than the changes. What are they hiding from us?
