Also, the M1A1 abram's tank is not conventional, I guess you did not know that in the past few years it has been upgraded with new technologies and now almost all Abrams tanks you see are the M1A2 tanks. Take into account that the U.S. is building a completely new tank, called the M1A3.

To all: America is no longer at the height of its global "empire" it was cancelled out at the same time as the Russian "empire". Also, America just wants oil. A green revolution in the Western world would not stop the wars totally, as it has damaged relations and would take years to repair. Guerilla warfare in most countries of the middle east is because their government has gone down. The wars for "freedom" are less effective than leaving the tribes to do it themselves.
The closest thing to a Third World War we would have is a large scale nuclear confrontation. Or minimal exchanges but non nuclear explosions taking down both countries and aligned powers with it. The people who would do the best is those in Africa or South America.

Russia is $86 billion. Russia has 1.2 million active troops and 750,000 reserve. China has 2.2 million active troops and 3 million members making it the largest military force in the world. USA has 1.5 million active troops and 850,000 reserves. All 3 achieved mutually assured destruction.

@sekailover The USSR lost millions of soldiers due to a variety of problems. Poor training was a problem yes, the Germans were highly trained and battle experienced. The USSR had only beaten Finland simply because they eventually sent in more troops than the entire male population of Finland. Secondly, Stalin's purges had removed virtually the entire military command. You had sergeants becoming Captains etc. People with no experience in large scale formations. Lastly, human wave attacks.

The primary motivation for the bombing was to flex their muscles to the Russians who had seized most of Eastern Europe, without the bombing, perhaps the Russians would have pressed on to Paris, they had the largest army in the world at the time (and better equipped). And we shouldn't become the monsters they were.

Sure, they didn't commit war crimes, just like the civilians the Japanese tortured, raped and murdered didn't commit war crimes. Or the U.S. soldiers at Bataan who surrendered and were promised to be treated humanely and told "We are not savages, we are civilised" by the Japanese. The Bataan Death March sure turned out great, or how about the fall of Singapore.

Russia is $86 billion. Russia has 1.2 million active troops and 750,000 reserve. China has 2.2 million active troops and 3 million members making it the largest military force in the world. USA has 1.5 million active troops and 850,000 reserves. All 3 achieved mutually assured destruction.

This lets the USA know that China can shoot down 100% of USA's space satellites if it chooses. If USA space communications are lost, USA is over-reliant on satellite technology. LOOOL every video about WW3 talks about Russia that will attack the "peaceful" USA, but i just want to underline that if there is a nation that is costantly on war since the end of WW2 then you should know that this nation are the USA.

@sekailover Russia couldn't kick our ass. Russia barely managed to conquer Chechnya when it was in revolt. The U.S. military is more advanced than Russia's, our defense spending is almost 10X theirs. Our population is two times theirs, our economy dwarfs theirs. The only thing Russia has is several hundred more nuclear weapons and that means diddily. @sekailover The USSR lost millions of soldiers due to a variety of problems. Poor training was a problem yes, the Germans were highly trained and battle experienced. The USSR had only beaten Finland simply because they eventually sent in more troops than the entire male population of Finland. Secondly, Stalin's purges had removed virtually the entire military command. You had sergeants becoming Captains etc. People with no experience in large scale formations. Lastly, human wave attacks.

Hiroshima was August 6th 1945, Nagasaki was August 9th 1945... the Japanese did not surrender until the 15th of August 1945. Get your facts straight before you open your mouth moron. @Bladesmith79 No... I don't think you have the full picture. Japan offered its surrender and cease fire but was not accepted until after the second nuclear strike, I also did history. The primary motivation for the bombing was to flex their muscles to the Russians who had seized most of Eastern Europe, without the bombing, perhaps the Russians would have pressed on to Paris, they had the largest army in the world at the time (and better equipped). And we shouldn't become the monsters they were.

As far as everything I have EVER read, the Japanese never offered a surrender of any kind until the bombs were dropped. My grandfather was a Marine on a battleship just off the coast of Japan, waiting to invade the entire country. By dropping those bombs we saved MILLIONS of lives, both American and Japanese. Maybe they could have perfect the Fugaku bomber, loaded it up with all the plague bombs that Unit 731 made and sent it to bomb the U.S. west coast. That's what they had planned on doing. They even made weather balloons capable of making the journey across the Pacific. They had thousands of plague bombs ready and waiting for us.

The japanese did have bio weapons. Bombs with the bubonic plague... I think we can assume America can vaccinate victims while China cannot. They did not have thousands of bombs. They were a broken nation, like Germany on the last days of the war.

The idea was to load Fugaku bombers and fly them on one way missions to the U.S. west coast. Japan had also developed and built several submarines capable of launching aircraft. While simple fighters, they could have been loaded as well. There was no vaccination for the bubonic plague back than. Penicillin was in its infancy.

Now, I am not saying that they shouldn't have dropped the bombs on Japan, even the second one. I personally, living in Europe, am glad that the Russians saw the power of the Nuclear bomb, and not realising there was only 2 bombs built, did not decide to continue their advance into Europe. BUT we cannot label it as something else, it is an insult to those that died (and still dying due to radiation, very dirty bomb). The civilians or their decedents committed no war crimes.

@Hecate1990 No one knew about the long term radioactive effects for certain. The bombings were necessary to save lives in the long run. Sure, they didn't commit war crimes, just like the civilians the Japanese tortured, raped and murdered didn't commit war crimes. Or the U.S. soldiers at Bataan who surrendered and were promised to be treated humanely and told "We are not savages, we are civilised" by the Japanese. The Bataan Death March sure turned out great, or how about the fall of Singapore.
