Why oh why aren't there any Michael C Hall's Emcee videos on? Were they taken down because inappropriate? Were they flagged ?He sooooo looked the part, decadent, disturbing but hot as hell in a very, verrrry gay way. There's only one snippet of his Willkommen (with a singer called Susan Egan on part 1 of a Cabaret backstage tour) Hope that helps enderfish001....
And you couldn't compare poor sweet restrained David Fisher with Emcee, the poor guy wouldn't know what to make of him! I liked it when MCH said 'Everything I pulled out of the cupboard for Cabaret I slammed shut for David'. I need more Emcee !
Has anyone seen or heard of any taped Cabaret performances when Michael C. Hall was the Emcee? I've looked all over the internet and have only been able to find one picture and that seems so weird for such a big show!
Maybe it was taken off just because it was so weird... Very beautiful I thought, decadent and disturbing but beautiful. Maybe it looked too gay for comfort?
@odoanna1 Ya but he played a gay man in Six Feet Under :P I just love the show and love his acting and think it would be awesome to see his version of the Emcee :)
@reader55player Lord knows why. The Emcee is a seemingly impartial and mischevious commentator on the events of the play and their wider implications within the context of the period. The Devil is an actively malicious force of evil. Two totally different things.
Out of the four versions of this Emcee I've seen (Esparza, Cummings, Stamos, Pascal), Raul is deffinately my favorite.
Joel Grey will always be good as the first ever Emcee.
I would like to watch Neil Patrick Harris as this Emcee, but YouTube won't let me. If anyone knows where I can see Michael C. Hall or Jon Secada in the role, please tell.
Was he in this revival or in A revival? 'Cause I was only talkin' about the Emcees in THIS revival. Though I have seen NLB as the Emcee, and he was rather good.
I don't see anywhere that NLB was in this (Broadway) revival; it only mentions that he "toured" as the MC. Um-kay. But I distinctly remember a You Tube in which NLB sang "Wilkommen," with the crazy suspenders, etc. It was film from a a late-night talk show because Letterman or Leno or somebody introduced the number. I remember Norbs was terrific, he had a little trouble undoing his belt, that's how well I remember it. Where did you see NLB as the Emcee, Sweeney? That you tube clip was hawt.
I saw the one your referring to; on the late night talk show. He did have a little trouble with the leather coat he wears before revealing himself in the weird suspenders.
Still, out of the BROADWAY Emcees I have seen, Raul is my fave. Makes me seriously want to play the character; and that version, not like Joel Grey's Emcee.
Thank you so much for posting this! I looove the video of him singing "Willkommen" I haven't seen Cabaret, and I wanted to hear his other songs in it. :)
I LOVE HOW THIS SHOW WAS SET UP. It was meant to feel like you really were in the cabaret. mendes did his job :)

I find him incredibly sexy in this clip. I don't know why. Maybe there's something a bit wrong with me.

He is the first actor to make me see this character as symbolizing the devil.
