This is absolutely stunning. I loved how some of sounds from the original anime were still there, such as the curtains. It made it so much more beautiful.

So, we have an uncomfortably established "grey" area, where people are doing what they're doing with no thought of gain for themselves, but are forced to negotiate around an understandable, but thoroughly inflexible copyright system.

One of the generally recognised methods of getting Youtube to accept the video and audio content of an AMV is through the Youtube appeals process; by quoting the Copyright Act of 1976, and claiming the content as Fair usage. This works almost 100% of the time.

No-one's ecstatic about this, including myself, but it's the best way we've come up with to share AMV content on Youtube. If you know of a better way I'm all ears.

In no way was I attempting to take advantage of the Fair usage act itself or mislead viewers, and I do apologise if this seemed like it was the case for any of you. Hopefully my reasons were outlined clearly in this reply.

Hi, I'm not sure if it's already been made a point of. (And Trust me I'm not putting any level of disrespect towards either the work you did on this video, not the anime itself.) But claiming the fair use act is frankly bull. No AMV falls within those guide lines, you're not 'reporting, teaching, using for a scholarship, nor research' as far as I can tell.

This applies to both the music used and the video clips involved. Adding a "Please watch/buy this anime" at the end doesn't exempt you Sorry

The facts are the following:

1. Does the average AMV found on Youtube actually and realistically fall under the Fair use act? No, of course not, though convincing argument can be made for the "comment" element of the Fair use act, which you neglected to mention in your post

2. Does Youtube ruthlessly cull AMV's that contain copyrighted music and video material? Yep, it sure does. Usually it happens within one day of posting the video being posted.

3. Does the average Youtube AMV creator see any profit or benefit from their videos? No. Does the average AMV creator do what they do simply for the respect and support of the anime that they are representing? That's certainly true for me, and I'm sure I can speak for the majority as well.

Hello! This is such a lovely amv! I like how you connected the "present" and the "past" scenes (train, mtr etc. ) . Beautiful editing. 5 stars and fav. ^^

The only thing I find weird is that the song is about struggling to survive love, but in the beginning of this amv we see the main character walking past his childhood haunt with a contented and slightly melancholic smile on his face. He then starts remembering childhood memories of his (first?) love.
