Mel B was not a professional dancer anymore than J.R. Martinez. They both just have great rhythm and timing and can pick up steps fairly quickly. what the Spice Girls did onstage could hardly be called dancing. Of course, she was robbed but this show has rarely been known for choosing the best dancer to win. Just ask Mario Lopez. This paso remains one of the best ever on this show.

Maks is a wonderful choreographer and I don't understand why ppl say that he isn't.The difference between maks and other choreographers on the show is that his dnaces are obviously designed to let his partners shine and show how much they have improved and what they can do unlike what some of the other pros do which is dance and outshine their partners hence making it seem like they have a better performance,I guess this is what ppl mistake as Maks not being good but IMO he is one of the best!

Such techniques, power, passion! They are oozing with passion for each other. I cannot get enough of watching these two together. I am learning so much from Maks and Mel B. about their tangos. More importantly, the viewer can see the love/hate in their relationship. It is so dynamic, so hot. The footwork alone is just beautiful. She really transformed herself into such a wonderful dancer. I hope she continues to dance. They were mesmerizing to watch. Thank you for the postring. WoW!
Me too. I always loved this paso too, but Dmitry and Mya's is right up there for me too. Maks is way off the choreography is not the same at all. I think it's just a case of professional jealousy in Maks case. Dmitry is the new Hottie on DWTS and I don't think that the three Hot guys that have been getting all of the attention like it. I'm talking about Maks, Derek, and Mark who I love, but it is obvious to me. LOL! I love Dmitry he is right up there with them for me.
My favorite "M&M" -- Mel and Maks! She definitely should have won over Helio.
The female dancers do more moves than their male partners. It's like the male dancer supports the female dancer. And Julianne did most of the dancing instead of Helio. So it seems like the female amateur stars are competing with the female pros.
But Mel and Maks (along with very few others) had/have the best chemistry of the majority of couples since DWTS started in the US.
@cougar11c I totally agree with you. Julianne was a firecracker on the dance floor - very nice to watch because she was so good. She made Helio look better than he was, I believe.I was very surprised that he won that season.
@cougar11c Somehow I'm agree with you but if you also look at the profi male dancers like Derek Hough and Mark Ballas they are dancing their butts off to compensate what their partners can't do. For sure the female stars are dancing more that the male stars but in such dances the man is very important if he knows what to do and how to do it the dance will always look perfect.
mel and maks were my favorites and looking back they were having so much fun.... they were great and were the winners in my eyes... JUst like Gilles was the real winner

As for Mel B? She was pure wesome. I LOVED her Paso; that woman oozes sexy dominatrix and played that part and coustume perfectly. And Maks looks good no matter what he's doing or is wearing. I'd have fun watching him water the lawn ... even better if it's shirtless. :)

It's not just about the dancing that makes the person a winner, but about their connection with the audience. I feel like Mel was lacking in that area a little.
It's really cool that you spliced these together because MM's Paso Doble (Week 7 version) and Tango are my favorite dances that they did. I watch them all the time :)
That Maks dude is really good. He did well with Hope last year and almost won again with Kristie Allie.
