mutch like your tutorial on iris by The Go Go Dolls!!!

  • Very nice! Thank you this has helped me a lot. However in the verse chord progression at 3:30 on the Cadd9 I don't quite understand how you are picking it.... At first you pick the chord 8 times, then when you explain you only explain 3 notes; A, D, B, G, E... what are the other 3 notes that you pick? Thanks :)

  • @gottaloveacowboy goes A D B G E B D E :)

  • wtf ?! :D

  • you should explain a bit more detailed i dont knowe wat cadd9 * is and how its different from cadd9 u pick different on it

  • As I said in the video it is a 2/4 bar (so it goes for half the time) so you are really just doing half the pick or similar.

  • hey thanks, you helped a lot =))

  • No problem

  • great tutorials you have!

would you be able to creat tutorial for "anywhere but here" by "safety suit".

i am learning on your tutorials, im a beginner. :)

  • excellent job at teaching i find it easier just to strum through the song strictly cause i haven't learned to pick all that well just yet but thanks!!

  • Thanks for the comment, much appreciated!!!

  • this is standard tuning rite?

  • Yep but you got to use a capo

  • @educationalmaterials

    Really???

    Damn, I thought I sounded OK!?! :-(

Great tutorial by the way! Now I can play a song properly by one of my favourite artists! Mr 2-timing Ronan Keating!?! Still love him though!?!

  • Try watching the video or reading the info tab, it's all there!!!!

  • im a guitar beginner and wow! this is the first vid were im seriously learning to play the song. THANKS!!

  • No problem, glad you found it useful, thanks for the comment!!!!

  • your missing out the hammer-on's from the intro but close =]

  • Forgot to put them in, could not be bothered to re record the lesson

  • its a gr8 lesson but sry ur not completly correct on the intro.

its still a gr8 lesson though keep it up

  • Yes I know the hammer ons are missing, I forgot to include them, listen to the cover and you will hear them

  • Thanks! I have finally mastered it in 10mins after figuring out the picking on my own for so long! haha.

  • No problem, glad to have helped!!

  • If I may ask, what gives the best sounds for this song with Capo or without? I've seen you playing the song with vocalist with Capo and practice without, so I guess for real playing capo would be nicer?

Nice lesson, very helpfull, for my valentine present <3

  • The only reason I used the Capo when Vince was singing was because it put it in a better key for him to sing. When picking a key for a vocalist you need to try find somewhere that is comfortable for them and fits in their range nicely.

  • Ow thanks :)

  • well...tat was amazing....having seen ur guitar skills, i would reccomend u 2 hear - stealing tomorrow by great lake swimmers....a really really beautiful song....try playing tat...

    gudluck buddy

    frm india...

  • Thanks, will check it out

  • Hi, really really great teaching.. just want to make one thing clear because I´m about to make the whole song with picking =)

Can you tell me the picking pattern thru the song after the intro?!

Just to see if I´m right?!?!

    Best wishes from sweden

  • Just keep playing the same pattern that I was playing at the start if you want to pick the whole song, or you can change it, does not really matter as long as you like the sound.

  • I think u miss a note on the D sus 4 cord, u missed the d sound on the b string.

But thanks for your lesson! It is helpfull to me!

  • Yeah I did, I realised it after I had finished the lesson but could not be bothered to go back and fix it. In our cover I put it in.

  • Haha! Great! U are really handsome! haha! Thanks for the lesson, but your intro sounds a little different from the original, but thats ok, and what guitar did u use? The sound of this guitar is so clear, and "gleaming"..Nice guitar u had there!

  • Thanks, my guitar is a Maton EM225C with Elixir strings, a very nice guitar indeed.

  • what does "for a bar" means, compared with the other when u dont say "for a bar" ???

  • For a bar means for a count of 4/4 (which is sometimes called a measure), if it is not for a bar then in this song it is 2 chords in one bar (both for a count of 2/4)

  • how can i adjust my strings to dis song? pls help...

  • Use a capo to play it in the same key as we do.

  • this is so clear

  • Thanks

  • thank for lesson.

I'll try to play it !!

  • No problem, thanks for the comment

  • thank you

  • No problem

  • great job :)

  • Thanks

  • that totally okay :)

but i can't see why you leave it out sometimes, isn't it all about learning it right. ? :)

  • If it's a cover there is no right and wrong, it is about your interpretation of the song, just some things sound better than others. Sometimes when you only occasonally put in something like that hammer on it highlights it even more.

  • well this is a lesson. and i really incurage others to play with music, and change things such as the hammer on. i just got the feeling that i wanna show the right result to a student maybe, and i incurage him to use his fantasy and create his own cover. your complety right, but my opinion is that you should leave people to their imagination. :)

  • well mate your not doing it right.. sorry else its good. but slighty wrong

the thing is when you take the D chord.. you gotta hammer on the high E.

"i put a little bit of hammer om sometimes" thats really how to do it.

  • Thanks for pointing that out but I am aware of that, if you listen to the recording at the start you can hear it but when I was recording the video I left it out. Sometimes I put it in sometimes I leave it out depending on what i am after.

  • 5 starts m8 cheers

  • Thanks

  • good work!

  • Another great lesson. Thank you for your hard work. Proper credit should be given to Keith Whitley since he was the first to make this song famous. His version also happens to be my favorite. The song was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz.
