Wow! I'm from India and I graduated from this place back in 96 and I still feel very strongly connected to this place. This video is great. Brings back all the good memories...Thanks...
To those of you who are worried about money, Interlochen is surprisingly awesome about their financial aid. And it's undoubtedly the best decision I ever made in high school. Take the initiative, be brave, practice/revise/create your butt off, and apply! You never know how possible it can be until you try. :)
Thanks again, Tove, for putting this up. It's bizarre to see so many people watch something I made when I was 16. I miss all y'all from back then dearly.
I'm considering applying for next year. I'm a freshman now for creative writing. Any info you could pass on? I'm kind of scared of the idea of leaving home...
It's decided. I'm going to Interlochen. I'm gonna work my ass off to get that overture written, that other piano piece finished, and the essay perfect. I'm going. WHO'S WITH ME!?
I love Interlochen and I think it would be SO amazing to go! But it's little more than an impossible dream. I love art, and I love writing and drawing, but I would never feel good enough to get it. In addition to my parents being completely reluctant to letting me grow up. Michigan is a long way from North Carolina. Haha. The money would also be a problem. But, oh well. Sometimes dreams can't come true.
@swordfightergirl606 omg. i know exactly what u mean, want to go sooooo bad! but my mom like decided before i wuz born or something that i could never ever ever go to boarding school. so unfair!
@RenaRyuguuChan I've never been, but I'm almost positive that you do. It's a light blue shirt and navy bottoms I think. Boys wear light blue belts, and the girls wear knee socks. Or something like that. Haha. :]
could someone tell me please what pieces have been accepted for piano, and if my 7th grade ACT Score was a 25 am i more likely to be accepted? please please please
I too attended that amazing "Facebook - IAA 1969-72 or so" reunion and discovered what an extraordinary place Interlochen was, is, and will continue to be. Thanks for this video--the spirit certainly lives on.
I was there for four years (69-73) and Interlochen is special beyond any words I can find in my mental dictionary, which is filled with a lot of Hintze vocabulary words!
Excellent video! I recently was at Interlochen attending an IAA reunion comprised of a facebook group called "Interlochen Arts Academy 1969-72 or so"; there were 30-40 of us that showed up. The "Interlochen magic" was so powerful, even after 40 years; people re-connected with each other in such a beautiful way; it was an experience of complete joy! The years melted away in an instant. IAA students (current and future), know that the friends you make there will be a positive force forever!
Well said, my fellow reunion goer. My only regret is that it took almost 40 years to realize that our IAA "buddies" are such a positive force in our lives!
yep. its settled. i dont care how i get here,, but im going :) this community looks so strong and fun and juss all around awesome:)

If you go there for High School, do you have to wear a uniform? (It's fine if you do, I'm just curious)
