I saw The Tempests many time in Charlotte, NC (USA) in the 60's and their music will last forever. We still love them here in Myrtle Beach, SC and hope our friends in the UK love them as well. Hazel Martin was the lead singer and he dies a few years ago. RIP Hazel. Keep singing these great songs in heaven.
Growing up in South Central Pa, I'm no stranger to this kind of music, S.C. PA was a hot bed for R&B in the 60's, with the likes of The Magnificent Men, The Intentions and the Emperors to name a few. This track is absolutely mesmerizing.
@SuperSoulbrother1 this tune blows me away, ive never heard this before and ive been a soulie for over 40 yrs, thankyou for this post and making the point your never to old to learn.ktf.
The "Would You Believe" LP would be worth the price for this track alone, but the beautiful thing is it's full of class tracks. The voice on the lead singer is second-to-none!
Great song, I saw this band many times in the 60's in Charlotte at the Cellar, B&G and other clubs..Enjoyed the sign in the video advertising the bands at the old Park Center in Charlotte. $2.00 to $2.50 to see three bands..Those days are long gone..Great memories, thanks for posting..
As a blue blooded Chelsea supporting, born & bred Londoner, I've always felt proud and grateful to have grown up with, and into such a rich genre of black music from Ska, sound systems, Soho sweat boxes and warehouse raves, but I have always been in awe of Northern Soul and would have loved to have been a part of it.
