ye a bug is 900kg's, chevy around 2000kg's, my point is, air cooled engine, 4 cylinders, if your are smart enough you can make those bugs fast as hell.
very well filmed and loved the sound of the engines. its pritty hard to think a bug could beat a chevy nova dragster but its probley because the bug was tunned loved the video please like that.
Not hard to believe at all. The bug is MUCH lighter and even though it has a 4 cylinder engine, it has a better power/weight ratio than the nova. Not to mention this particular bug has a fiberglass body making it even lighter and reducing drag. (though the bug would probably still beat the nova with a stock metal body, because it would still be lighter).
Brings back memories of the 70's when I was drag racing my 71 Nova at the 8th mile in Manassas. There was a bug that regularly blew my doors off. It wouldn't spin it's tires, it would hop once and be gone, with it's single rear exhaust pointing up in the air like a freakin middle finger. Hated that bastid!

I filmed alot of stuff that started off good but got alot more shaky as the day went on. I thought this video was cool.

It's not hard nor dose it cost alot of money to make a VW fast. I have a 69 VW and other bad ass cars and of all of them the VW was the cheapest to build. I bought the car for $500 bought a built 2135cc moter for it. Went to the junk yard and stole a turbo off a Nissan Z and bolted it right to the exaust. I made the charge pipe from thick PVC pipe left over from my pool pump and it runs low 11s with slicks. It cost me only $2,500 bucks total. Beat that!!!

The V8's are cool cars, i love MOPAR but they are just too heavy. Nova weighs 2.3 x the bug so needs 500 ish HP.

I had one myself back in the day and remember how heavy they were. Hard to keep those steady after a day of filming, out in the heat at that. As for the cars, I like em both. Cheers to the VW for the win. I own a 58 VW and a 51 Chevy btw.

My 69 VW Bug burns rubber @ 3 gear... i don't know the results for gear 4 becouse my schools parking area was too smal to it :D its have "allmost" normal 1600cc engine :D

both cars are sweet. dude wasnt on a pogo stick, he probably had one of those full sized VHS tape camcorders from back in the day. I know the one I used to have would get HEAVY by the end of a show. I filmed alot of stuff that started off good but got alot more shaky as the day went on. I thought this video was cool.

Oh and by the way, for you guy talking shit back and forth. I love Mustangs and have an 85..5.0 and 93cobra,97cobra,04cobra that I love and think is better than any car out there. I have at least $40,000 into each one to run from mid 12s to low 10s. the VW beat them all in cost. The only bad thing about the VW, it is that it is not street leagl.

It's not hard nor dose it cost alot of money to make a VW fast. I have a 69 VW and other bad ass cars and of all of them the VW was the cheapest to build. I bought the car for $500 bought a built 2135cc moter for it. Went to the junk yard and stole a turbo off a Nissan Z and bolted it right to the exaust. I made the charge pipe from thick PVC pipe left over from my pool pump and it runs low 11s with slicks. It cost me only $2,500 bucks total. Beat that!!!

and you dont know nothin about american muscle. my friend had an old GTI and traded it for an Impreza because he kept having problems at 80,000 miles. his subaru has over 130,000. thats sayin somethin right there. try searching for more vids on "VDub" beating american muscle, you wont find alot.

you're dreaming if you think that Nova didn't have any mods. Any car can be fixed up to beat any other car. Both these look very nice and are very fast, especially for two normally aspirated cars.
