@hannes807 Are you using the GWX mod? I understand that this randomises crush depth. Don't knock the realism though, every boat was different. 150m was the rated depth for u-boats, anything deeper would have depended on how well built it was, though Kaleuns regularly had to go well beyond the "safe" maximum. As for Tang, you'll find that was an exceptional dive - US subs generally weren't rated to dive as deep as their German counterparts.
How to stop a crash drive? Yesterday when I was patroling somewhere in the Mediterranean I managed to torpedo two destroyers and one coastal tanker with only four torpedoes. Some minutes later I saw another tanker far away. After following the tanker for about 30 minutes another destroyer appeard behind me and I was forced to do a crash dive to not get hit. When diving I couldn't stop it, it went down to 200 meters and everyone died. What a waste of time lol
@TechnicalJaguar It sounds like you'd fallen victim to the crash dive bug. If you save the game while submerged it supposedly has a chance of triggering an irreversible crash dive. Not one I;ve ever encountered, but that could be the cause?
@hannes807 I've just looked into the Tang some more - the record-breaking dive was set by Tang in 1952, not during the war.

@torminatorII Shift-F2. You can then move the camera freely the same way you would move the external camera.
