I feel like you as a worship leader you may be "trying" too hard with your voice. I think you would sound better by using your natural voice. I don't know...take it for what is worth....like your vids....
I appreciate the feedback. The rasp in my voice is mostly due to lack of technique. I'm certainly not trying. Guys like the Creed dude and the Nickelback dude drive me insane so the last thing I want to do is sound like I'm trying to make my voice do that.
@skaterjrj Actually I like the rasp, its a very unique sound and not many vocalists can pull it off well like I think you can. just from one worship leader to another I would encourage you to not focus on enunciation so much. I know for me personally it was something I had to really work through too. but I think you got some mad guitar skills and I really like the vibe.
Oh, the enunciation...I've listened to our live worship recordings of where the last consonant of a lot of words ends up getting cut off. When it's in the mix with all of the other instruments, it can make it difficult to tell what the word is that I'm singing. Thus I've been overcompensating so I'll get into a better pattern. I hear, in this song particular, exactly what you're talking about.
