Solmonese gave a great example about changing opinions when he talked about Massachussets. It just takes time and exposure, and people simply get used to it. Do people not see the similarities to the black civil rights movement? We're in the midst of another civil rights movement RIGHT NOW.
how is that hateful? That's really what I think this guy would do... Republicans are freakin scurry -- they would commit genocide if they had the chance. I'm independent/green.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from the heaven saying, Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

SthephanieKansas: I completely agree with you. It amazes me to learn how people indeed rely on lies to inject fear and doubt in American people. Those against same-sex marriage are perhaps the same kind of people who would have been against African-Americans attending schools, or "mixing" with the White race. Sadly, these opponents will never fully understand what equality means.
This to me is a non-issue. If you don't agree with marriage equality, don't marry someone of the same sex! As a school teacher, I don't ever recall reading/citing the words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" and seeing the word, "except". Separate but equal does not, has not and should not work. We can not "eenie meenie miney moe" through our neighborhoods and point to who is allowed marriage or not. As a christian and American, I am for equality, love, and acceptance to all human life :)
Oh goodness, I love how CNN absolutely destroyed King. "It was a court decision ruling a law unconstitutional- what more do you want?" That is EXACTLY the court's job.
Congrats to Iowa and Vermont. And kudos to a court system that's got the right idea.
Is it so funny how the homophobic people get so mad when the law starts working against them but if this was reveres do you think he would be trying to say ohh well we should not leave this stuff up to judges I dont think so a lot of these states are near my state PA come on PA lets allow people to love
Turds like Steve King are so twisted to expend such effort in pursuit of the destruction of other peoples' rights...issues that do not even touch his own life. At all. The mediocre and the frightened, the insecure and—probably—closeted can only point fingers at others and try to make themselves seem superior. Sickening. Go VT! Go Iowa!
i love he want to get rid of it as fast as they can but hold on, the simple fact is it will take at best 3 years before anything fan get out to the people and there is not the votes needed to pass it so look for 5 or more years down the road before something comes to the people and by then no one will care but the nut jobs
It isn't that he WANTS to get rid of it as fast as possible, but he MUST get rid of it as fast as possible, because he's on the losing side of history, and Iowa is shining evidence of that. Each month that passes makes it more difficult for the haters to convince everyone else to ban marriage, and each year that passes makes it more likely we'll see some of these DOMA laws and amendments undone, as a new generation asserts its political power.
"it's far different here...in iowa" This cretin needs to convince Iowans that others are diferent in their desire to love and be loved so as to instill the fear of OTHER. when that fear is firmly in place and played upon republicans move ahead. this has been their tried and true tactic for as long as i've paid attention to politics and i'm 50. this EXACT divisive fear based mindset is EXACTLY what won the last few democratic party victories. Fear CANNOT exist where there is love. simple fact.
ONE MORE!!!!! That's absolutely marvellous! Fantastic! Congratulations to our neighbors in Vermont! I'll pop a bottle of champagne to you!
Next, New Hampshire and New Jersey. Open your eyes, Justices of California Supreme Court! May you want it or not, the human rights will take every states, one by one, and won't stop until all 50 states give equality for all.
Is this tide turning...Heck yeah =). Our fight for equality and our victories are being broadcast to millions of viewers. Now more than ever WE need to keep this conversation going at home, with our friends and family, neighbors and co-workers. Iowa, Vermont, I S2 you!
When will the evil state government give the citizens of Vermont the chance to vote on "gay marriage"???

Roland Martin is so creepy. Why is he so threatened by gays? It's truly odd that a Black man would want to deny others their basic civil rights.
