Close but not quite of what will happen in the next movie, yes there will be an unrequited love theme between HH and SS (spoil alert - don't look at this if you don't want to know). HG comes to learn of SS's love for her only after he dies. She is devastated rendering her heart to become black essentially becoming like SS.
