Forlan's was a swerved short-range freekick.

Honda's was a long-ranged knuckle-ball shot.

In my opinion, Honda's free kick was absolutely stunning. I mean, goalkeeper had no chance of reading where the ball would go.

Forlans free kick was nothing special, it was a gift from the keeper, bad positioning, he moved just before he kicked the ball towards the other side.

Hondas kick totally fools the keeper. first looks like its gonna curve to the keepers left side, but then half-way it brakes and goes to his right side. impossible to safe such goal, unless you know in the first place its gonna brake and change direction. amazing kick from him.

@BurnRoddy But this is freekicks... The whole idea of getting worse as you get older is that you are slower, less agile and you can't run for as long as you could before. For a freekick none of those things come into play. I bet if you get Gianfranco Zola to take a freekick now at his age he'll still get it in.

Not really the fact that you become slower also make you easier to get fouled or tackled and therefore you get more injuries which makes your aiming harder than before.
