I saw the band twice, the first time at Bolton in 1967 and the second time at Blackburn a couple of years before Dave died. Fortunately I was able to be introduced to the band and founmd them all amazing. Apart from the Beatles DDDBM&T were the best live band I ever saw, and over the years I've seen many. Some great records and this is one of my favourites. We used to play it in a band I was in in the 60's named Beau Nash. I particularly enjoy this track, Zabadak and Xanadu.
and people like justin beebler (name mispelled on purpose) over any of the brilliant bands like ddbmt? insane world. No new pop song can be as good as this and dave dee such a amazing man and still had it to his very last performance.

this is good but still prefer The Honeycombs version. Joe Meek's cracking snare sound and amazing distorted guitar on the wicked solo are better. Honeycombs version not on youtube though, perhaps someone can upload?
I am officially a fan of DDDBMT now that i've heard this. I'm 28 and play music. Grew up mostly on 80's pop, but I gotta say thank God for Europe and they're contribution to music/songwriting in general. "BUT I TRYYYY-AND I TRYYYY-AND I TRYYYYY!! I love this fuckin song man!
Oh but there's SO MUCH MORE otaku1881! If you like this, I assure you it's only the tip of the iceberg with DDDBM&T. I just got the out-of-print "Complete Collection" 2 disc set from 1996 and if these guys don't lift your spirit, what will?! With the way Dave moves and motions to the camera, I'm sure Russell and Ron Mael of Sparks were BIG fans of these guys. Keep looking up there stuff on here, try out "The Wreck Of The Antoinette."
An unbelievable performance by one of, if not the greatest British Beat groups ever. Fronted by the great Dave Dee,who I would put alongside Freddie Mercury as the greatest front men ever,
We will never see his like again.
When you look at the shower who inhabit the charts nowadays.................................!!!!!
OMG! That was a plastic comb with tissue paper wrapped around it on the solo! Sort of like a kazoo. How unbelievably cool! Anyway, awesome band, awesome tune. The world was a lot cooler when there was a Dave Dee in it. RIP mate.
ich bin begeistert! dass es diese aufnahme noch gibt ... denn das Plattencover ganz am Anfang (auf die bassdrum geklebt) war meins LOL (kabelträger im beatclub). besten dank fürs erinnern :)
Love that bass line :)

Apparently the song was originally called simply It's So Hard, but this was thought too suggestive by the record company in 1966.

This song is not a good representation of the band. "Hold Tight" and "Last Night in Soho" are much better songs.
