As an old school gamer and huge fan of Sonic, as I need to get this off my chest, "Akon ruined your childhood"?! For Christ's sakes, GROW UP!!!!!!!!!
As for this song, I consider Akon's role in this song VERY random, but kinda good. He has an odd way of making almost any song sound good with his uniqe vocals.
As for this game itself. Great, but could be way better, it seemed like it was rushed and the controls were kinda lacking in response too. Again, nice addition but could be FAR better.
As a "retro" Sonic fan, I do have to say that I actually really like this song. Would have been better without Akon's pointless whatever it is that he's doing, but I actually really like it. The ending theme of Sonic 2 makes for a really great vocal melody. :)
The ONLY issue that I have is that when I think about the "couple" and the "love story" that this song is written for, I feel very, very awkward.
Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations are awesome, but Sonic 06 is crap and Shadow and Silver are awful characters, Knuckles was a much better rival. And that's coming from someone who grew up on the GC versions of the Adventures and Sonic Heroes. Everyone hates this game, not just retro fans.

Are you serious? I never played S 64 and there's no way I'm buying one just to play it, but from what my friend told me it's just flying through rings and is considered worse than E.T. I admit the game gets better as it goes on and starts to feel like actual challenge, but that's only because you get used to the awful, awful controls. On the contrary. A true hardcore gamer knows the difference between genuine challenge and just plain shoddy gameplay to emulate a challenge. This game isn't designed to be hard. It's harder than it should be because it's poorly constructed. Go play a game such as the original Castlevania or Contra. Those are examples of classic hardcore games. They're hard, almost frustratingly so. But only they're designed to be hard rather than just being hard cuz their crap.
I heard dis song back in 2006. In 107.9 FM, da radio announcer said something about buy Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. I guess Sega is trying to get people to buy dis game, non-Sonic fans and non-gamers. Dis game sold about a million units even though it was a terrible game. I am 443,502 guy who bought dis game. LOL!

@TheShadowrulz Because Sega never intended on the game turning out the way it did. This game was created for the celebration of Sonic's 15th birthday. Sega wanted to make this one of the best games in the series, so they approached celebrities and popular bands to preform some of the tracks. Although the game had all this backing it up, time constraints and developing on two young and new platforms at the same time (PS3 and 360) lead to the project all together being incomplete at release.

Really, in my opinion, it would have been the best Sonic game of all time, had they had more time to work on everything. Not only that, but the sound track is awesome, by far one of the greatest I've heard, and the gameplay isn't entirely bad either. Again, however, if only they had more time.

Okay... Seeing that there is [disturbing] romance in this sonic 2006 game, and that they brung back this song, I must say... But they should know by now that Sonic Team gets different people to do music for them (which is why the music has almost always been so good). I mean they got the KING OF POP to do music for them.
That and a lot of ppl don't seem to like hip hop that much. I think it's cool they switch up the music styles for their games though.

@89sonicboom oh thank god. I thought they were really trying to push the whole Knuckles is a thug thing. Its because new gamers are so pickey, they want great story lines and amazing graphics. I miss the days when you just had to go right, sometimes jump over some spikes, and beat the crap out of Dr. Robotnik, not this Eggman crap. Maybe Sega will come around with the new Sonic 4 and colors.

@89sonicboom lol, same here. I kinda lost all hope with Sonic after '06 came out. I loved Silver, but that was the only good thing about the game. I'm really looking forward to Colors. And that is true, Sonic didn't hit base with me until Tails was introuduced. My brother is twenty and Tails is still his favorite because he used to play as him in 2 with me. I'm praying that Sega will make a comback this time around! Because if Sonic dies, I'll cry =,(

@ShadowxFangirl ditto to this day I go through Sonic 3 & Knuckles with my brother being Tails good I love Sonic and it would break me if he completly failed off on a side note I was so happy when they put him in Super Smash Bros. Brawl but was sad Tails wasn't playable :(
