Damn, the music in this game was awesome! I actually loved that about old 70s and 80s fantasy, how they had that innate connection to both medieval music and progressive rock. I enjoyed that era of fantasy more than, say, the modern era where there's nothing buy overly orchestrated "epic" music(which is more generic, IMO, because epic music isn't just used for fantasy, but action and period pieces too, so it's less intimate of a style for fantasy).
This game drove me batshit as a kid - that scream when you die haunted my dreams. But yeah, I really wish there were more making of videos for the old games.
@BradTheProducer Tim Follin and Rob Hubbard, two of the greatest game musicians ever, both of them retired far, far too soon. It's a shame the industry doesn't afford the same amount of respect to musicians as it does "lead designers" (newsflash - any reasonably imaginative five year old can "design" a videogame, and pretty much any 20 year old can fine-tune the balance with a bit of thought) and graphics artists (wow, you know what a color wheel is and can put up with 3D Studio Max, who cares).
man, this is priceless. amazing that 1. you bought this video (no disrespect) 2. you were able to salvage it and 3. they made the vid to begin with.
as a humor joke, if you move on to 1:30, i think the pres and the programmer are wearing the same suit, probably purchased on the same day, for the same dev diary :)

@stripedhyenuh
Wikipedia says he was born in 1970. So I guess he might as well be that young when Solstice was made..

This was seriously one of my favorite games ever. Amazing seeing a short documentary on how it was made. That's incredible.
