This movie warms the soul because it contains a lot of truth about life and why we are here... It's not about winning, it's about pushing through trials against all odds, it's about following your dreams, and never giving up, and learning to respect everyone from all walks of life...it has a lot of lessons for everybody... I love this movie, I gotta say it's one of my favorites by far, plus it's also one of the funniest movies i've ever seen and it has an excellent soundtrack...

@tqsuited They weren't equals at all, and never contended for a medal. They did get good at the starting part of the race eventually, but their real story was about the fun of competing. No one expected them to win. It was just funny as hell that they entered in this sport. I believe the part about the sprinting fail was true however.

There, the Jamaican four sled stunned many of their critics by finishing in 14th place, ahead of the United States, Russia, Australia, France and one sled from Italy.

Incredible film. One of John Candy's greatest roles. I remember those Olympics, I remember the Jamaican bobsled team but I don't remember the accident. I don't know whatelse to say. The movie was awesome. Every child boy, girl, around the world should see it!!

@Fanik8 Actually, not to ruin the movie or anything but it is a fictional story. The Jamaican bobsled team was actually started by 2 Olympians who went to Jamaica and notice the resemblance between the Push Cart Darby and Bobsled. They formed a team and thus the first Jamaican Bobsled team. This story is of course very inspirational though not exactly based on true events.

I mean don't get me wrong, it's a very uplifting and inspiring story. I once watched it more than 3 times in a day but to say this is all true is quite fictitious. The footage of the race itself was real and the crash happened but the real story wouldn't have been as interesting to watch.
