I was at this fight and it was a good old fashioned butt kicking by Cung Le! I mean, was not even close except for a 10-15 second moment for Shamrock. It was a beautiful display of dominance and class by Cung.
The last two Strikeforce fights in San Jose, the main event fight ended within 12 seconds. When Shamrock fought Gracie, I forget which one won. But one of them hit the other in the adams apple. Frank was loyal to his word waya. He wanted to give the fans a show. He did try a take down twice in the first round, but that was his instincts reacting, he realized what he was doing and let cung go. Cung has no power. He broke franks arm by 3 rounds of kicks

Frank is a master on the ground. Cung is a great kickboxer, it was a hell of a match.
I liked the fact that Frank took a risk and challenged Cung to a stand up however, it's rough that Frank broke his arm.
Le didn't have to do anything special except kickbox (le is a Kickbox animal). Frank chose to kickbox with Le.
I have more resepect for Frank for keeping his word. I did expect Frank to take the fight to the ground in the later rounds.
I want to see a rematch with true MMA style.

MMA is called Mixed Martial Arts... anyone can chose their strategy... shortsided strategies don't work. A well rounded fighter will generally win... Frank only used a port of his skills on Le and Le pulled out his arsenal and couldn't knockout Frank even with a broken arm.
Le was not impressive.. wait til Frank uses his whole game or wait til Le fights a MMA fighter. It's not called San Shou - not.. it's called MMA!

ridiculous......I've been watching Cung Le for years and his the real deal. I've seen on the ground as well and he's probably more polished and has better technique than Frank. Thats the real reason Frank didn't go to the ground because Le is a better wrestler. Even the announcers spoke on it. And stand up, Frank has no chance. Cung is a world class stand up fighter. Most of these MMA guys were a bunch of street guys who learned the fight game through UFC as it was evolving. Bar Brawlers.

Frank could have taken Le down anytime he wanted too. Frank is a professinal MMA fighter.. it would have been easy to take Le down.
Frank may have grappled with Le a couple of times and maybe tried to take him down... however during the 3 full rounds Frank didn't really try to take Le down or else he would have.
It backfired, but you have to respect a guy who made it an exciting fight!

Frank Shamrock had Cung Le rocked several times.
True MMA fans know that Le wasn't the ideal opponent, he has little ground game.
Frank had Le hurt toward the end of the third round. Frank could have taken the fight to the ground and finished Le, but he chose to continue the standup and show MMA sports fans that Le has no endurance.
Frank's arm was injuired, unfortunately Frank was unable to continue, Frank would have beat Le in the fourth round!

The last two Strikeforce fights in San Jose, the main event fight ended within 12 seconds. When Shamrock fought Gracie, I forget which one won. But one of them hit the other in the adams apple. Over in 12 seconds. The next fight one of them hit the other and the one that was hit fell down accidentally and the match was over. Both fights ended within 12 seconds. The fix was in.

No doubt Cung has heart but I'm super impressesed by his ability to anticipate what his opponent is going to do. It's like he's got ESP or maybe he's a master at reading body language. Cung dominates kickboxing matches without getting hit once. He will get hit against Frank but I think Cung will come out on top.

Cung is so powerful I think he can get out of Franks grasp. Frank is so powerful and quick as well, Frank can knock you out at any time. That was something with Frank picked up that Russian and slammed him on his head, knocking him out. I hope it will be a great fight. I want to see some beat up heads.

You guys don't know that Frank is the only real fighter at 185, by far. His ground game is the best ever, his stand up is about K1 level and his wresling is OK. Anderson Silva won against the retarded Hendo who thought that he was going to knock out a striker of this level. If hendo relied on his wrestling he would have won.

I would love to see Frank mix it up with Silva. Who else is there, Silva has cleaned out the middle weight division. The problem is Frank's disdain for Dana White and the UFC. The Cung Le/Shamrock match is going to be great. I really don't care what others say, Shamrock and Le are top notch martial artists. I personally think Cung should have had a few more MMA tune ups before jumping in with Frank, but hey if he gets past Frank it will lead to bigger pay days.

Obviously he wouldn't fight the best right away, he has to prove himself first. To beat a great fighter like Frank proves something. He has one of the best striking ability out of any fighter.

Cung le plans his movements and his style. He's will rounded best striker right now in the mma, showing true martial arts in mma. Frank on the other hand, he haven't beaten anyone with high skills. he may started mma back then, but look at the people he fought- they all suck. more likely, this is the biggest challeng frank will ever face. you can not be a legend, if you do not posses the right skill to beat a true martial artist.
