Dont even waste your money or time . You cant make any good numbers with this moter. Its good for a large moter home or a plow truck

nice dressed 366 big block, I have one I doped in a 1980 Chevy half ton 270 hydraulic cam with 10.5 pistons, roller rockers, ect cant keep the rear tires on the truck. lol

366 bbc is a low rpm torque beast, not much can be done with it . small bore, short stroke . 4 bolt block , forged crank , strong thum rods , small valves . with some fine tuning will produce a lot of torque for a small amount of money . not a race motor .

The 366 is a respectable motor. My brother bought one about 6 years ago for $150.00 and it only had 5000 miles on it. I dropped it in his 1976 3/4 ton camper special truck with a 400 turbo auto trans. Ran great but seemed to run alot better under load so we pulled it out and dropped in a built 355 small block. Thinkin bout building the 366 a lil bit and putting in my 85 s15

i have a 366 that im curently getting ready to drop in a 1979-1980 chevy half ton 2 wheel drive ppl said i couldnt do it .......lol
what did you drop it in and hwat was the overall performance ?
and what did you have to do to it to get high performance ? instead of it being a work engine ?

that's cool! I've Never seen a 366 hot rodded, what else did you do to it? didn't the 366 have two water necks? lol also do 454 valve covers fit?

It has two thermostats, one water neck. The valve covers are the same as other big blocks.
