I loved the ending where they start with the two different parts that overlap then go back into sync :) Beautiful.
You guys are so lucky to have an ASL class. In Quebec, where I live, there are none that I can find for my age group and the ones that are for my age teach LSQ (Langue des Signes Québecoise) and it's not at all the same as ASL. From what I've found, I have to wait until I'm in university to get classes, which is not at practical.
You don't have to be deaf to understand how beautiful signing songs is. We are hearing and learning mark Wills "Don't laugh at me" it's changed my life in more ways than one. Now I am taking a ASL class at a deaf school.
No problem! It's my pleasure to help out fellow Level 2 Students. =) I'm in Level 2, taught by Mr. Williams. Or, at least... it WAS Taught by Mr. Williams... R.I.P. B-rad Willie.
Uhm... Buttercupbbe3... Who told you that? Or did you come to the conclusion yourself?
It is improper to mouth the words while signing. Even if you're signing a song. If you mouth the words while signing, the Deaf community would almost be offended- Speech is not their language. Signing is. They would understand the signing just fine, and would consider it poor signing if these girls DID mouth the words.
Also another thing i noticed girls, is when you interpret a song ESPECIALLY you need to mouth thee words it'll the Deaf community to understand more of what yu are saying :) well good
You don't want to mouth the exact words you are saying, but you want to incorporate mouth morphemes - therein lies what both of you were trying to say I think.
Yes i agree with you but when the song says Broken smile the girls did the right sign yes but they shouldnt have smiled but like yu said they are begginers :) VERY GOOD LADIES. Yes i am fluent aslo in ASL and English Sign Language. Cont. with your signing girls!!!!!
But the only reason i was smiling when i signed BROKEN SMILE was because it was the first time we did songs in my level 2 class. My friends were all smiling at me and making me nervous.
And like what whoopdefreakingdo said, you have to interpret the song for it's real meaning. If we would have mouthed it, it would have been like a dis to the deaf community
in the end of the song, there's a part where the singer is continually singing the chorus, but in the background, another person is singing a different part, but it's both at the same time.
@msmarler is that nora alexander in the gray jacket?

i think the Deaf community will understand it by the signs...
if you are signing the literal meaning and not the words, it would get mixed up.. and we wouldn't be signing what we were mouthing.

wow! you both are great! it's good for a beginner! :) im proud of you both! I know sign language myself and I'm fluent. heheh

This just made my day. Very well done. The only thing I ever signed in class was "The Three Billy Goats Gruff" ... totally not as cool as this.
