Eh, I myself have always been a ford kinda guy. my '81 f-150 custom has a 460 under the hood, and I don't think I've ever had a problem with it, other than a blown header, but that's customary when you beat the shit out of your vehicle.
Sitting here talking about how one truck is better than the other is pretty dumb due to the fact that who's to say the vehicle didn't fuck up because of the way you, or a past owner treated it...
Im a chevy girl through and through and so is the boyfriend... he was a mechanic in town for awhile and now is a disesel mechanic. He can make anything run like it was new... i agree with camarodan32, seeing all the vehicles the bf has worked on i can honestly say that they all have problems! It can happen to any type, make, or model... its all in how much care you put into your truck or car and how well you maintence it that matters!
@SilveradoCowgirl im deff a chevy guy, but my first truck was a 2000 ford f150 an i bought a 93 silverado almost 2 years ago, and i still got the ford as a daily driver. im goin to school right now to be a diesel mechanic, so i know how to maintain a venicle, haha. on my ford in the past year or so, ive replaced 10 ignition coils, and at$40 a peice, they add up. haha. after all those, my chevy with a tbi 5.7L gets THE SAME gas mileage as my ford with a 4.6L. haha im deff a chevy guy for life

Yea funny the ford that blew the head gasket is an 05, thats the crappy 6.0 liter motor, I would pay to see what a duramax has on a 7.3 liter. My family has got two. One has 360,000 miles on it orginal everything, Thats a 2001, and the other is farm truck, 1997 7.3 that has 158,000 miles on it, now thats not allot of mileage but it also pulls trailers. In fact thats almost the only time we use the truck. P.S. I have yet to see a durmax with 360,000 orginal engine and trans.

Hell, my Camaro Z28 I have had 3 transmissions, and I had to build a new engine (I built a 383 stroker) because I beat the hell out of that car when I was younger. I was going to road races, and drag strips every weekend.
Hate to break it to ya 187vanzyl...but all car and truck makes have their own problems. I used to defend GM when someone started talking smack. But I have learned that all car makes have their own problems and they have cars and trucks that last a long time. Just depends on how the owner takes care of the car or truck. That's good, but my Grandpa's Ford has 687k on it...my mom's Dodge Stratus has 342k on it, and my Toyota 4x4 has 727k on it and when I sold Saturns I had a customer bring in an SL car with over 850k on it.

Hell, my Camaro Z28 I have had 3 transmissions, and I had to build a new engine (I built a 383 stroker) because I beat the hell out of that car when I was younger. I was going to road races, and drag strips every weekend.

Hate to break it to ya 187vanzyl...but all car and truck makes have their own problems. I used to defend GM when someone started talking smack. But I have learned that all car makes have their own problems and they have cars and trucks that last a long time. Just depends on how the owner takes care of the car or truck. I don't care if its Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Ford, or Toyota...they all have problems.

@187VANZYL You maybe right...now I used to be a GM fan and would back up GM when someone talked smack about them. But I have learned that all car makes have their own problems.....I don't care if its Chevy, Ford, Dodge, or Toyota. You say your dad's chevy has 439k on it. That's good, but my Grandpa's Ford has 687k on it...my mom's Dodge Stratus has 342k on it, and my Toyota 4x4 has 727k on it and when I sold Saturns I had a customer bring in an SL car with over 850k on it.

@Yellowcardcrazy Shut the fuck up. My 97 F-150 has a175K, Nieghbors 98 F150 has 330K, He also has a 01 F-150. 225K My Uncle has a Ford Windstar with 260K. My Buddy has a 00 F-350 7.3 has 300K. So I don't see how Fords Suck. especially since they have sold more then any other company. Just shut the fuck up and drop it, Just watch the video.

Less than 5,000 people here. All there is, is woods & fields. You either live on a farm, or work on one. I live in the deeeeeeeeeep south of Mississippi though. So usually where ever i go they all make fun of us because MS carries the thickest accents. It's great though. The southern life.
