  • Just amazing.

  • Woonderfuuullll......!!!!!!

  • @industrialistpig she played an excerpt of the whole song for this concert, there is another version where she plays the full piece.

  • Really nice and undeterred by working with a pianist in a separate time zone!

  • She plays the Er-Hu very well, and she does not need showing up that funny behaviour. Have a look at so many other fantastic Er-Hu-players here on YouTube, e. g. the 8-year-old-girl!!! She is really an honest player. The work by Saint-Saens is called "...capriccioso" and nothing else.

  • congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

  • congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She's improved so much. Watched her live just 3 days ago.

  • My heart aches: when it comes to command of Western thought and programming, why do you still kiss Europe's finests' ass? Has everybody forgotten how Asians excel at crosscultural communication? Or how to express beauty in sublte Asian terms? Is there so little knowledge and will to explore the European and modern Chinese oevre? Hail to the equal temperament, hail to the big concert halls and hail to the microphones and digital delay!

    Pure sadness and lost hope.

    Please share yor thoughts.

  • I've never heard this piece before, but I've seen a lot of these violin songs performed on erhu, the difference in tone is unique! They're both enjoyable, but I think the erhu is definitely more emotional :)

  • I like 4:19 to 4:28 where she wins every prize ever.

  • EPICALLY AWESOME ERHU ROCKS!!

  • Это ужасно по своей слащавости,

моя учительница музыки в таком случае говорила: ну-ка, убери эту цыганщину! Для цирка -это чудный номер. Sorry///

  • @ilyabialo You are absolutely right !!

  • virtuoso! almost like violin! :)

  • so sad.... so touching

  • amazing

  • I like this better than the violin version because this sounds so unique!!!

  • I do love erhu, and this lady is a wonderful player, but this piece needs the violin for its range and timbre really.

  • I really feel it is very moving.

  • Masterly but too nasal a timbre for this piece.

    Still, I was awestruck!!!

  • incredible!

  • ahh i love her expression

  • Just the one?

  • asianpride1015689, to do vibrato on violin relax ur arm and move ur wrist back and forth. On erhu, u do like a "rolling vibrato." Relax ur arm and move ur wrist up and down. As a violinist, I find the erhu as a beautiful instrument. Although I don't have one.

  • princessxoxomelody, dat helped a lot... now ima show off in front of my friends... thnx lots :)

  • how do u vibrate da strings like dat?? on my violin, wen i try vibrating da strings, i luk like im stabbing my violin......

  • practice slow simple back adn forth, then move it fast and fast, time for it to get good takes YEARS! dont rush it!

  • Oh my god !!!I know her...!!!She was my classmate!!!

    Bravo Huang!!!: )

    I love your playing!!!

  • what an awesome erhu player!! She's unreal!

  • this was incredible. i absolutely love her trills. some of her technical traits are very similar to a violinists.

  • thank you for both beautiful Er hu peices. Do you have any video of Jar Hu the 'chinese cello'? Have seen a picture but have not heard it.

    John from Australia

  • This woman is amazing. Yes, she is serious with that!

  • marvelous!!!!!

  • Wonderful! And it's so funny with the flowers at the end!

  • yea haha that was beautiful but are they serious with that crap at the end she like cant even hold it

  • yeah it's like forget the instrument, just maliciously attack her with floral goods...

  • Unbelievable! Fabulous!

  • Blood cloth!!

What a chiny gal can play!!

And no jkwtse1, its beauty is that it does NOT sound like a violin.

This a different and absolutely ENTRANCING sound.

  • Superb! I made myself a home-made erhu, but I can only dream of ever playing like you are doing here.

  • This instrument is Dan Nhi.. I got adored its voice!! Nicence perform. Have to want to play it.. Congrats!!

  • lol

  • that's amazing!

  • This is really crazy, very very impressive! BRAVA!

  • Sun Huang you are so talented. You've done us proud. Though limited in its range, you managed to make the erhu sound like a violin. Sheer magic. From an old oversea Chinaman

  • The erhu has qualities that are special in itself as with the violin, her point is not to make the erhu sound like the violin but to make an artistic statement. The erhu is not as limited as you think, try having the violin imitate "jiang he Shui" it would be close to impossible.

  • I am no expert, but I know the difference between 2 and 4. The piece was composed for the violin. Yet Sun Huang made it so easy with the 2 stringed erhu. A sensational performance very difficult to match even with the violin, not to mention the erhu. I agree with you that each instrument has their own characteristics.

    Thank you and good night.

  • 天才的

  • you are truly amazing, love you

  • i love this video

  • LOL dun Be so VULGAR plz

  • this is insane..wow

  • 孙凰是我最崇拜的偶像,我的梦中情人。她的演奏真是出神入化。

I am going to spend three years to practice tune.

  • "That was killin'!" That was the first thing that came out of my mouth when she finished! Love the erhu! Love this video!

  • Really musical, and great technique. I wonder why she left out the upbow staccato... maybe the erhu bow isn't suited to it?

  • A wonderful interpretation of Saint Saens.

  • wow

  • Sun Huang is incredibly talented and a joy to see and hear.

  • don't worry. after 45 seconds you will barf and be able to continue watching this.

  • wah so nice got so many flowers...

  • I know an artist who is much better! she performed at the chinese new year spectacular ^^

  • great
