I think a lot of animal rights supporters accept that sometimes it's necessary to test on animals beforehand to check if things are safe, but ehy do they have to actually purposefully go out of their way to make a creature's life hell?

@raffertysteven "all but one " there are thousands upon thousands of doctors who are totally on board to stop animal testing. it's like trying to make a 67 mustang carburetor fit on a 2010 Chevy Silverado with fuel injection. They are not even close to becoming compatible. So comprehensive testing should start with in Vitro testing And then moved on to people in small doses and so on.

@nnmk001 I think the point of this video isn't that the testing actually occurs, it's that the people who work in such places can't even treat the animals with respect, or offer them pain relief. I think a lot of animal rights supporters accept that sometimes it's necessary to test on animals beforehand to check if things are safe, but ehy do they have to actually purposefully go out of their way to make a creature's life hell?

@MrAlexspanky I agree that there are circumstances where animal testing may not be necessary and in the future both groups hope that it won't be needed. However at the moment, while there are some substitutes, none of them are a real replacement for the depth of data animal studies give.
I agree that in this video punching the dog IS cruel and perhaps there should be better methods for monitoring animal research, while it is being carried out.
As a footnote I have two dogs.
