  • no fees upfront - it sounds ok. and better than in my day when I had to pay back £15,000 not the new £21,000. I don't know what students are complaining about.

  • if these students are all gonna moan about mandatory fee changes, then all i can say is " enjoy paying them". no more sympathy

  • People seem to be missing the point about why the students are angry. Its not so much about the rights and wrongs of fees but rather the fact Clegg lied to the very people who formed one of his biggest support bases

  • I think this is the problem with the British society, they want a free ride for university and welfare while paying little taxes, stop being lazy and work for what you get, why should other people pay for your asses.

University is a privilege, not a right.

  • @AKCanadian

You dont have a clue about welfare. Probably another tabloid reading biggot who thinks all claimants are lazy criminals.

Until you have experienced it yourself, just shut the fuck up

  • @WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1

Experience not working to get money from the government?

I live in Canada, here we work and dont complain about tuition. You guys are just lazy fuckers who don't want to work hard, you just want to get a free ride.

  • @AKCanadian thats an unfair comment as many working class families work hard and one day want their kids to goto uni for a better life but on many working class wages university simply is too expensive without help from loans and maintenance grants, without eaqual opportunity we will be an even bigger capatalist society which is a wrong society. I want to come work in Canada in the next two years, hopefully and i'm sure that most Canadians are not as ignorant as you

  • @8Morgan8webcat

Yeah, its pretty easy to get scholarships here, and its pretty easy to get loans here, and from the new system they made in UK, while the tuition did go up, the universities are offering grants and it is possible to loans from government. How is there not equal opportunity to go to university, rich people don't have to take loans to go, not so well off people just have to take loans to go.

  • @AKCanadian You're clueless. If you think 20,000 in debt is an acceptable way for a person from a working class family to start in life, especially in this financial climate, then you are just another unsympathetic and arrogant greedy individual. You probably work in a menial job and have some kind of issue with people who study, as they don't work "as hard" as poor little you. Anyone who comments that the police should have had firearms to stop the UK riots can't be that educated.

  • @LoneRookRS1

What so people who already paid for university or work their ass should pay taxes so YOUR ass can go to school?

PS: I am in university, but I have a JOB during HOLIDAYS to pay for it. They should have had fire arms to stop the riots, there was a point to the riots, but is stealing and burning things from other citizens going to do anything? No it instead wasted more money. Anyone that was in the UK riots is not educated at all.

  • @AKCanadian I've graduated, worked during my holidays and am now working, but I don't look down on other people who take a loan out to ensure capital to live on while they invest in studying. You're just another breed of snob, plain and simple. If you believe shooting criminals on the streets is going to fix social poverty in the inner cities then you should just quit university because it isn't for ignorant imbeciles.

  • @AKCanadian And I guess you're one of those people who feel their precious, precious hard earned money shouldnt go to fund schools, healthcare, or foreign aid - since why should you have to be forced to help anyone else? Why should you take part in a society aimed at building up a new generation. Go back to your miserable selfish life in whatever backwater Canadian town you live in and keep your nose out of the business of British youth.

  • @LoneRookRS1

No, they should go to all the way to high school/A levels, healthcare, infrastructure and with the money saved, you tax people less. How are you going to build a new generation if everything is handed to them.

  • @LoneRookRS1

They have a long time to pay for it; and a degree to get an overpaid job.

  • lots of taxpayers dont go to uni; they shouldnt have to foot most of the bill then....i applaud you cleggy...

  • what a fucking bellend]

  • This man offends me.

  • What people should actually understand is that the tution fees are for two reasons. 1) Profit for the banks and the privatisation of higher eductation 2) The ability to control the future middle class through debt. What does Nick Cleggs Dad own? He owns a bank which specialises in underwritting debts like the student tution fees are.

  • ahaha you said it son! 1:46 yes my son! you tell him!

  • @scamoosh

If it meant I already had £150,000 in my pocket for the year I'd probably be happy not working.

  • "Why are you not giving us as much free money anymore?" - Student whingers

  • @BlackPawedLion It's not free you stupid tory fuck. It's to fund their study in education so they can become the doctors, engineers, biochemists and economists of tomorrow. No doubt you have dug yourself up from the dirt during the Thatcher years with no help at all and proudly scoff at anyone who needs any kind of welfarist support. You and Clegg can go wank off into the sunset together.

  • @LoneRookRS1

    Wrong.

Why would I want to wank off with Clegg if I'm apparently a "tory fuck"?

If I don't want Government to give spoilt little jumped-up wankers money which they've not earned, that's my opinion.

The fact you have to resort to such childishness really sums you up.

  • @BlackPawedLion I'm being childish? Lol good one. Actually it was a typo I meant "walk" but tbh either suits me. The fact you label students as "spoilt jumped up little wankers" basically sums up the selfish right-wing character of bitter people like you, who hate the idea of grant-funding to help train people into professionals.

Unlike, you, these little wankers didn't enjoy your free university education and baby boom, but sad little people like you need someone to hate I guess. Fuck off.

  • @LoneRookRS1

It's not THEIR money; they have no RIGHT to it.

    I'm not right wing.

I never got offered "free" university...

  • @BlackPawedLion If you invest to develop a person through study, they will benefit society through their experience and capability. If you take the view that they should work from the ground up with no help and be judged on their ability to survive in a recession, then the poor will suffer whilst the rich carve the cake up between themselves. You are right wing, you just don't know it yet.

  • @LoneRookRS1

I don't care; they still have no right to whinge.

And no; I'm not right wing - I'm not in any wing, or the fuselage.

  • @BlackPawedLion You're an idiot.

  • @BlueCosmology

    I'm really not.

University loans don't even have to be paid back if you don't earn enough money after so many years.

  • @BlackPawedLion I'll be leaving uni with a £63k debt, if you think that it matters that Idon't have to pay it back if I don't earn more than £21k a year after 35 years, then you are an absolute idiot, since practically everyone does earn more than £21k a year, the average wage is £31,000.

  • @BlueCosmology

If you earn 31k you can pay off the debt within 5-10 years - more if your want to live more luxuriously earlier.

  • @BlackPawedLion I know a hell of a lot of people that can't go to university because it's not feasible that after going to uni (which takes a lot more hard work than most jobs) they'll get a more difficult job, and will still have less money than they would of if they didn't go to uni until they're about 50.

  • No upfront fees? There never were upfront fees! He's a lying, spineless piece of shit and his party is finished. Good riddance to bad rubbish. To be honest I'm leaving the country after uni anyway so he won't see a penny of it anyway. Fucking criminal.

  • wanker

  • The lying cunt has never done a days work in his life apart from sucking a fags cock.

  • 1:16 stop getting all emotional

  • if he just told the truth i bet you they wouldnt have complained! im a first year right now and i would happily have paid the higher fees. tough luck new students, just battle the increase and stop expecting people to pay up for ya all the time! grrrr

  • I don't think it is so much the fees rising which has caused the problem, however this man did give his word and in writing too that he would oppose rises in student fees.

It is that which is sickening, it is the fact that no matter what he promised on the ground, once he was elected he just did as he thought fit, showing a complete lack of respect to his supporters.

If, before the election he had argued that there may be a case for fees rising, I think people could have accepted it better!

  • 1.57- hipster glasses and ironic beard

  • 1:18 cant stand girls who just get all emotional about the fees rising. please please just understand that there will be help

  • incase you students dont understand, the fees had to rise. there was no way they could be subsidised by the government anymore, so stop crying you freeloaders. im a first year and i have no complaints with the fee rises. someone has to pay and sadly the consumer has to pay for once. it comes in cycles, so learn to take it!

  • "Which I genuinely believe will make it easier for people from poor backgrounds to go to university." Twat.

  • @IamMoaningMyrtle well, depends really if he told the truth. if he told the truth then things will have changed. are you an upcoming student? dont start following the view of naive year 13's who dont understand how hard it is for taxpayers

  • @weatherallc05 No, thankfully I'm a second year uni student.

  • @IamMoaningMyrtle yeyy :) well university is supposed to be enjoyable! makes me sad when students complain about the costs, rather than be excited about the massive opportunities to see loads of different people.

  • @weatherallc05 Yeah I LOVE uni :) Got a lot of assignments right now but I'm being productive with it all. I've got a good group of friends, I enjoy the modules, have a good social life (not the heavy drinking type though, by the way), am involved with a couple of societies and got a part time job. What annoys me about some students is that they ONLY care about tuition fees and cuts to education. Nothing else. Students aren't the only ones getting cuts and paying more... D:

  • @IamMoaningMyrtle they are influenced by the media too much, shows they arent fit to step up yet

  • @IamMoaningMyrtle It has and it will.

  • @Rusty0211 Really. How?

  • What part of 'income contingent repayment system' is difficult to understand? But the reaction from people like those here isn't the weirdest take on it, that distinction goes to Labour who say 'we don't like this income contingent repayment fee scheme, we'd prefer a graduate tax'. Now either you wouldn't charge foreign students (because you can't tax EU people but you can't charge them differently than natives) or this would have to be administered... via fees with income contingent repayment.

  • That guy at 1:50 is the typical student 'hipster' prick that you get at uni.

  • @Kozzy06 tell me about it. im a first year right now, and i fucking hate these sort of people. the fees had to rise but clegg should have came out and said

  • @Kozzy06 yeh but i'd prefer him in power than these nick clegg twats

  • Liar liar pants on fire

  • its CLEGGY ;)

  • @MrMrc20 What is the alternative? Ok 1. Cut the 20 billion we spend every year on trident 2. Pull out of a war that we can not win and costs us 20 billion every year 3. Make the owner of Top Shop, Sir Philip Green, pay the 257 million he avoided in income tax. I could go on about the attacks on Lybia and the banking bonuses and tax breaks for the wealthy and the cutting of public sector jobs and cutting of social housing projects but you get my point. There is PLENTY of money out there.

  • @MrMrc20 My good man/ woman. The decision to introduce tuition fees was a cross party decision and you don't get it. It has always cost 9 grand to put a student through uni. Before tuition fees, the goverment paid all 9, then they paid 6 grand and the student paid 3. Now, the goverment pay NOTHING. And if you recall, university attendance went up when tutition fees were introduced. But now they have raised them too high. It's exclusivisation at the core. So think your arguments through next time

  • why don't people vote parties like the edl or english democrats , im sure they'll get something done

  • @AFGuidesHD because its impossible to get the majority of people vote for one of the less known parties when most everyone votes labour or conservative. Its just a waste of a vote to go with less known parties tbh

  • @iBlaze2much its a waste of vote for voting for these nutters

  • @AFGuidesHD Its a waste of time voting for anyone if you want to say that. There job is impossible. No matter what they do, it will piss off a large number of people.

  • @iBlaze2much lolz hows about getting out of the EU for starters that would gain alot of support

  • @AFGuidesHD It would also probably upset a large group of people

  • @iBlaze2much like who? Immigrants?

  • @AFGuidesHD You cant put 'immigrants' into one big category. Some immigrants (Polish..) come here and work for very little money, which while isnt good for british people seeking jobs, its good for british business. It doesnt matter what any politician does, some group will not be happy with every decision.

  • @iBlaze2much i know what immigrants are but who exactly wouldn't like getting out of the EU

  • @AFGuidesHD A lot of businesses

  • @AFGuidesHD

British Business. I said that in the last comment.

  • @iBlaze2much so some farmers wouldn't like getting out of the EU . , even if, there are more people who want to get out anyway

  • @AFGuidesHD Did I say farmers? And yes, but you still dont understand what I said in the first place..?

  • @iBlaze2much *facepalm*

  • @AFGuidesHD Your arguing points that Im not disagreeing with. I merely said they cant make a single decision without angering some people, so tbh, there job is impossible. Yes? If they tried to made everyone happy the country wouldnt work. Simple as.

  • @iBlaze2much hahahahaha

  • @AFGuidesHD 0_0

  • @iBlaze2much lol 0_0

  • @AFGuidesHD Our voting system would never have let them in, however popular they were. We should have had AV...

  • 18 billionaires?! really?

  • Cameron and Clegg's single shared achievment is they make Gordon Brown look good.

That has to really depress them and their supporters.

  • Brown & the Labour fascists are the reason this country is so fucked up and now BROKE. Does that mean I think Lib Dems or Cons are better? NO. but they aren't worse. Do no think Labour gives a shit about students when they introduced fees then tripled them when they promised not to in 2001.Just like the Fib dems those snakes use student votes for marginal seats. Many NUS leaders are Labour members who see it as a stepping stone that is why they said NOTHING when Labour did exactly the same

  • @LibertarianUK

Only your childish prejudice assumes I think NewLabour were worth a toss.

    I do not.

I reiterate. The major achievment of the two sad tossers Cameron and Clegg is to make Brown look good.

    That is truly bloody depressing.

Read what is written , not what you want it to be.

  • What is "Old Labour" exactly? Is that the Labour that was actually worth something?

last good PM labour had was Attlee in the 1940s. Not the die-hard marxists & Champagne socialists who hijacked it in the 60s.

Shirley Williams ruined education yet sent her kids Private. same for Wilson &Callaghan who ruined the economy.Blair & Brown took away scholarships for poor intelligent children to go top private schools which was introduced by thatcher in 1980 which until 2006 helped 80,000 kids

  • @LibertarianUK

you seem determined to avoid the fact you have wrongly assumed the grounds of a post made by someone else.

Preach into your mirror , it is thne only one interested. I never mentioned Old Labour, I criticised Blair's rebranding. My post was a criticism of Cameron and Clegg using Brown as a negative emphasis of how bad they actually are. I am sorry you are not bright enough to comprehend that. Actually , I am apathetic towars your problem and self. I find you rather boring.

  • @Dusty

Typical Lefty cowardly cop out when cornered with some facts. You can't justify one twat by using another.

One which made it his duty to "clear Africa's debt" with tax-payer money to "fight poverty".Typical mentality of deranged socialists wanting to be generous with everyone's money but their own but for poor intelligent children to get into private schools through scholarship funds he SCRAPPED that! since who wants to help the poor in this country? not as "chic" as the "poor Africans"

  • @LibertarianUK Jesus wept... How thick are you.I am not justifying any of them. you seek to do that for Cameron and Clegg.I'm not interested in your manic need to kiss Cam/Clegg's arse.

I will not respond to any more of your silly, childish posts.

Carry on your way in self twiddling isolation.

More and more people are really bothered that these two make them feel that a twat like Brown might not have been all that bad. That's the depressing point you cannolt grasp. Bye.

  • @Dusty Where in your deluded socialist imagination did I say I support Clegg/Cameron?

you really are low most leftists with no backbone to compel/defend an argument are, so this makes no suprises.

Yes you caught I am so thick I didnt really have an education after all I am one of brown/blair children therefore suffered the same bog-standard comprehensive education they managed to avoid for their kids & dumbed down system but afterall Labour was so GREAT! education education education!

  • If I was there, I would not of regretted jumping on him and beating the fuck out of him. I don't care how long I would of got in prison, my future is now fucked because of this dick. I can't afford to go to university; and I don't want a debt on my head, for the rest of my life!

  • It doesn't matter how you dress it up, I will be in £36000+ of debt when I leave uni. Also, Oxford and Cambridge are going to charge the maximum but so all of the good universities (or near as dammit anyway.) Oh yeah and on top the tuition fees there is also living expenses (like food) and accommodation to pay for.

I'd love to see Cleggy swap places with a student for 3/4 years and cope without his massive paycheck and see how wonderful his system is.

    CLEGG YOU ARE A DISGRACE.

  • Poor Cleggy.

  • Liar or hypocrite. Either way, he's a tosser.

  • no apology?!?!

  • nick robinson is a cunt

  • @j98765432123 Nick Robinson kicks ass

  • these students are smarter than Nick Clegg.

I can't wait til the next government.

  • @XxGeorgiia yeah, they are real smart when they have no idea what the economy is like at the moment. they need to listen to everything about the policy, and not just the price! god sake, they really are immature when you consider they are scared to take responsibility and pay someit that cant be paid for by taxpayers anymore

  • @weatherallc05 this government lost any claim to be fair or progressive when they announced plans for putting tax for the rich down to 40%

  • @Sleck06 You're right. I can't believe that the rich have to pay more because they are more productive than so called poor people and are punished for saving their money to invest in factories, improvements etc. instead of spending on everything they see on tv and then begging others for help when they realise that they have empty pockets. I live for aprox 180 pound a week in London, not even with a family so all the expenses are on me yet do not take any benefits. More, I save 20-50 a week.

  • At the start I thought it was going to say "No man, more of a tard than Nick Clegg"

  • Bloody students...

  • @Shadeofnight51 They've got a point though.

  • @Dendiol true, they just seem a little rude about it

  • @Shadeofnight51 yeah i know, always expecting people to cover their sorry asses. fact is, they are still immature and dont deserve uni. alot of these people will get the grades yet i reckon they are just too stupid to organise a budget! i organise mine perfectly compared to other ppl at my uni and im enjoying it thoroughly.

  • These kids are spoiled as hell.

  • Lying, power-obsessed scumbag.

  • can we all please agree that the guy at 1:50 needs to be beaten with a club?

  • @makhwushi - YES!! As much as I don't like Clegg that guy doesn't show any respect at all. You can tell he's going to be the annoying twat on campus who doesn't go to any lectures and pisses away all his money.

  • looks like Nick Clegg has a youtube 'cause theres one dislike :D

  • nick clegg is a liar and has lost all political credibility

he didn't compromise his views he completely changed them why did he join the conservatives if they were the political opposite to his party.

answer he doesn't have any policies he just wants power. even as a student though i can see why the fees went up. but such an obvious lie should be punished.

  • TBH, students think they know everything, but really they don't know shit about how the world works.

It makes me rage listening to their ignorance

  • that ineloquent hipster twat should show some respect. its still the deputy prime minister you are talking to.

  • Liar, traitor, coward.

  • Guys. Nick Clegg is a brilliant man and his plans have not succeeded for the fact he didn't win the election. If he had won the election things would have been done to the more preferable extent. He does not have the authorization or power to do anything more than he is currently doing or trying to do.

  • @DerpyDeagle He could of made a coalition with labour which had policies closest to his which the people who voted Lib Dem would have preferred.

  • @MsGingerman

    1. A Lab/Lib coalition would not have been viable, not enough seats to form a government.

    2. What makes you think that lib dem voters would prefer labour? Why would centre-left liberal Lib Dems prefer right wing authoritarian labour, to equally right wing but *slightly* less authoritarian conservative?

Lib Dem might have found common ground with the old labour party, but New (blue) Labour are nothing like the LibDems.

  • @78terrier

But almost a Tory is still not as bad as a Tory!

Atleast Labour still has to listen to the unions the Tories hate the unions.

  • @MsGingerman You can trust a Tory to be a Tory, but you can't trust Nick Clegg.

  • @MsGingerman The reason alot of people hate the Unions now (not just tories) because most of them are controlled by Champagne socialists & Marxists. Who don't want to compromise, care only for themselves & want to use the nation as collateral. manufacturing, mining, industry are now GONE because union LEADERS tried holding this country hostage for more money when we were BROKE

Education is now bullshit & terrible because it's hijacked by Leftist Marxist unions who have ideological motives.

  • @LibertarianUK Unions have an obligation to do what is right by us still with out them we have no way of protecting our working rights.

  • @MsGingerman Yes you do, there is a thing called the LAW & legislation which virtually every company has to comply with. This is not the 18th century!

Unions fat cats are robbing your paycheck, please go find out how much the main union leaders earn annually and the benefits they enjoyed from their members pay packets. Not even the PM earns as much as Bob Crowe or McCluskey among some. Go find out why miners (they very few left) are taking Scargil to court. You then understand what I meant!

  • @LibertarianUK Law and Legislation fought for by the unions, aswell most people don't know what work rights they have, for this we need union representatives. Some of them have become nothing more than money grabbers but a large majority of people who get involved in the unions do it to help there fellow workers.

  • @MsGingerman Laws implanted by POLITICIANS & ACTIVISTS! Union leaders for the last 40 years have only wanted to increase their pay packet! go find out what Len McCluskey & Bob Crowe with the other union barons earn.Tell me why does Scargill want 1,600 miners (since he helped destroy the mining industry) to pay for his 1.5 million house in Yorkshire & 1.3m apartment in London as a pied a terre? Wake up. They are interested only in protecting their cushy pay packet at the expense of the country.

  • @78terrier there hasn't been an old Labour party since the early 1950s and late 40s. New Labour began in the 60s when middle/upper class marxists Left-wing snobs began rising to the ranks of that party with their Anti-Britain bullshit & PC crap. They only want to see their own on top and hate the british people and working class.

  • @DerpyDeagle Oh please, that is such a weak argument. He never even tried to oppose these policies. He is spineless and blames either Labour or not winning the election for his own inexcusable lies and inaction. The Lib Dems are a disgrace to this country and after the next election will be wiped off the map, and rightly so.

  • NEXT ANTI CUTS PROTEST 30TH JUNE LICOLNS INN FIELDS TO PARLIAMENT SQUARE!!!

  • I HATE Nick Clegg. I was actually pleased when he and Cameron reached an agreement, because I foolishly believed that he would do some good. But no. He's jumped into bed with the Tories and said "Be gentle, Prime Minister."

  • god when ever i see that mans face i just get SO bloody angry

  • FUCKING LIER

  • Who is hated more by students? Give a "Thumbs Up" to the one you hate more below

  • Nick Clegg

  • Adolf Hitler

  • I was thinking of studying in the UK after graduating from my high school... but screw that, I'm going to France. It has cheaper education and a prime minister with more balls than any other European leader. Go Sarko!

  • nick clegg you fag

  • gordon brown is the one that got us in to this trouble... relative to other countries uk universities are cheap. If you want to go to oxford or cambridge and they do charge £9000 its well worth it anyway as that education is worth hundreds of thousands if not millions in your life time. similar but smaller effects from worse universities but it is also likely you will pa less...Your naive to think that after a recession university fees will be free.

  • UK student deserve it.

  • Don't you wish you could just hate Nick Clegg to death?

  • charging £9000 will be exceptional, oh wait!! 75% are charging it, you are scum clegg!!Hopefully liberals have learned their lesson, they are worse off under the tories, Lib dems are liars and are blue in yellow jackets, labour arent great but will be better back in power then the current government!!

  • haha nick clegg....what a pathetic man....my five year old mongrel has more common sense than that man

  • If people will pay less than they do now, how come this is being touted as a cut - it will effectively cost the nation more, so why the hell bother? The same goes for a lot of the genius cuts these fuckers are making. It's ideology pure and simple and if they leave the health service in ruins they don't give a shit. They will be dancing on its hot ashes.

  • HAHAHAHAHA! liberals are never gonna get a vote until our generation die!

well done you two faced, cock sucking, peice of shit.

  • what they should have asked is why they're paying when students in scotland and wales are not

  • She's just shaking her head and not listening to what he's saying. The commentators on this video are doing the same.

Do you guys realize the following

    1. You don't start paying until you earn 25k

    2. The majority of you won't pay back even close to the full amount (due to the fees being pooled and students from rich families paying more)

    3. You will actually pay LESS than you do right now

    4. You will pay between £7 and £30 a week depending how much you earn.

    Keep shaking your heads.

  • @2edsajdmsa Sorry, its 21k not 25k, just wanted to correct myself.

  • @2edsajdmsa

    Re: point 1 - It's £21k.

Point 4: It's 9% of whatever you earn over and above £21k (vs 9% of what you earn over £15k) .

    Otherwise, spot on.

  • Left wing Whore biscuit :P

  • British people have bad tempers

  • @quest8899 LOL!

  • I miss Gordon Brown.

  • @baileyjoer i dont he wanted a new world order...

  • @baileyjoer haha good one!

  • @baileyjoer Gordon Brown cared for the common people unlike tories/lib dems

  • @sachinisking1

Yeah. Kickstarting a house price boom, putting affordable housing outside the reach of "common people" was ever so caring. Aiming tax rises at those who could least afford it, in order to fund tax cuts and benefits for those who needed it the least was caring.

As for the coalition - since this is about tuition fees - the abolition of up-front fees & making university FREE until you're earning £21k is pretty damn good.

  • @baileyjoer you miss gordon brown? you fucking communist traitor. He was a fucking red, he left the doors open to immigration to flood in, now look what mess we're in. You fucking working class cunt.

  • @LorryTheUltraTory so what are you? an upper class cunt?

  • @XxGeorgiia Yeah and proud tory. Lick my boots you underclass pig.

  • @LorryTheUltraTory To be honest I'd rather be a underclass pig than a upperclass scumbag. Get off your high horse sir, nobody likes a tory. You'll realise that in the next election when Labour are back.

  • @baileyjoer Nice. Whoever prefers Clegg and Cameron to Brown needs their head checking.

  • @incredibleXMan

Why? Nick Clegg was basically pressured by Cameron into signing the tuition fees increase?

People are so ignorent to the stuff today.

He didn't lie because he had to form a coalition with the conservatives. If he Won he would have reduced the fees but he had to compromise by making it £6k or £9k rather than all £10k.

You may think that I am a rich guy siding with him but I am from a normal background.

You can still go to unis and as he said, its basically £30 a month!

  • @xaxie1 I mean saying it's fairer is a huge kick in the teeth. £27,000 grand for a degree for god's sake! £36,000 for 4 year degrees! I mean if any politician was too stick to their principles it should have been Nick Clegg. I think the liberals should have told the conservatives to govern as a minority government. Why any self-respecting liberal would want anything to do with this tragedy is a mystery.

You try ruling the government lol. Actually as he says only certain unis will be able to raise to 9k a year, others will be 6k.

It is fair as you don't have to pay back anything until you earn over £21k and even then not that much if you have trouble with you money :)

Also, America doesent even get loans and has to pay much more than we will!

Thats why they start saving from birth basically :L

  • @xaxie1 Most unis are charging £9,000 despite what clegg said. I wouldn't look to America to get tips on a better political system and governing ethos. Almost everything there is subject to the market. No thanks. The truth is that poorer students will be disuaded from going to university. This will certainly stifle social mobility rather than encourage it.

  • @incredibleXMan

The government keeps on saying that it is a fairer system and you probably wont even have to pay a penny but yet people still say its a shit system???

    Thats the peoples problem :S
