  • Every time i use that gel it flakes. does it flake on ur hair

  • you have beautiful hair. great video!

  • I'm not really big on curl definition. I live for the poof :)

  • Love it, Im the same way, my curls frizz fast so I use alot of gel and it doesnt get too crunchy..by the 4th hr it wears off a bit anyway

  • Aah that's so cute

  • did you do braid out

  • wow this video and the tips for defining curls video are two of my favorites! i never realized how much your hair grew in such a short time!

  • Eco styler isn't expensive I bought mine for 3.45 and the huge jar for 10

  • That is so what I want my hair to look like when it grows out! Is the Eco Styler as expensive than Kinky Kurly (that stuff is $18 a pop!) and do I just get it at hair stores or is it more easy to find?

  • @shonhubble Eco styler is really cheap. You can find it in your hair stores, Walgreens, or Walmart from $2-$4

  • Great tips! I use Eco gel, and have issue with it clumping. Your method seems very efficient. Thanks!!

  • i wasnt able to hear you clearly, but kind of gel and moisturizer did you use???

  • @lilloonatic96 eco styler olive oil gel and shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie

  • Enjoyed learning from your video! I also entered your give-a-way today. Thanks!

  • I use the kinky curly curling custard, on top of the curl enhancing smootie. The results are nice soft, shiny, defined curls ;D

  • I can't seem to find this question in comment section, but does hear become greasy to the touch after this?

  • @Cherabreena oh no. if you use the right amount of gel, moisturizer, and water your hair should be just soft =)

  • your hair is gorgeous! i have really tight coils, have you known anyone your technique worked for with my hair type? thanks :)

  • Absolutely beatiful hair! Thanks for the technique.

  • I have very similar hair texture, curl pattern, & length. I actually use the same gel (different conditioner)

I'll try your shake method. But I haven't been able to avoid massive shrinkage :(

    Any suggestions???

    Pleeeease

  • I love your hair..it is not flat and personally I am not interested in volume..I like the flatness.. I think your technique is so simple even I can do it. Does your hair feel greasy or do you notice any flakes as it dries? I think using the Eco styler with Aragon oil will work well for me

    Diana

  • What hair type are you because it looks like we have a similar curl pattern. Yours maybe thicker lol.

  • do you staighten your hair alot

  • @MyLovelybone umm not really. maybe every 2 months or so =)

  • 1:18-1:24 Not at all we all love your vids! Very helpful!

  • how do you maintain the curls throughout the week?

  • Is there a way to keep your hair from getting to dry after wearing gel styles? I want to try it out. Thanks

  • @halimadphelps when i define my curls my hair never gets dry because of the products i use. the sheamoisture really takes the hold out and moisturizes very well...let me know how it goes =)

  • Thanks for the shaking idea. I'm having a hard time finding my hair "twins" on here but I find that the palm rubbing and shaking from side to side seperates my curls too much. I am going to try this defining method tonight

  • I for one am not tired of you defining your curls..........these videos help me a lot because my texture is kinda like yours. SO PLEASE do not stop making these vid....even you change the smallest thing, make a video.....I know I am being greedy, but I need all the help I can GET!!!! LOL

  • can you apply on wet hair as well..?

  • @BigJerzWifey yes i definitely recommend applying it to wet hair =)

  • @allthatsgold thanks so much! :)

  • @allthatsgold what is your hair texter

  • Cute curls, wish my hair had heavy definition as yours that can swing but ever time i wet my hair it shrink in 2 a nappy ball.it doesn't loose up or drape when wet.

  • what's the name of the products you use cuz ur hair looks great I want mine like that

  • what brand of foundation are you wearing? I love it

  • @laitcaramel maybelline dream liquid mousse dark2

  • I love the curl def babe.. i was afraid that the shea moisture would leave a white residue if it was applied underneath.. bt it looks great.. thumbs up xx

  • @foxynerd101 nope i think the trick is to work in the right of moisturizer first and then apply the gel =)

  • Our hair is about the same length. I like it "flat" as well. Really it's not, only compared to the giant hair-do's of some. There's something about having the hair close to the scalp (flat) that is comforting. It feels more tamed and finished. Don't apologize for it. Very nice job.

  • where did you buy the eco styler olive oil gel?

  • @Misakichan2012 If you have Sally's near you they now sell Eco.

  • luv ur curls they rock

  • I luv luv luv luv it xx

  • I like that your hair is not white.. this is what I don't really like kccc and other curl defining products..

  • I like this video, and the Eco Styler gel. Works good for even my hair type.

  • Sister, you have more videos about driving than hair. Whaaaaat's up? LOL. What's that about for real?

  • Great video, simple and straight to the point

  • I really would like to see what it looks like after it's dry. That's my biggest issue. It doesn't lay right when dry and looks dry.

  • @candygirl2319 check out the next video.

  • Love your channel. Your styles are amazing! Keep'em comin! I'm thinking about cutting the rest of my relaxed ends from my hair this weekend and I'm a lil nervous because I'm use to having long hair. I've been natural for 1 yr and a few weeks but I have a lot of new growth. Do you have any advice. Should I go through with the cut or should I keep growing it out. Just sick of the 2 textures at this point.

  • When I first tried Ecostyler gel, I LOVED it.

But I usually put an oil under it and it still is hard. :(

What kind of alternatives can I use to keep it soft and not crispy?

    Any products like Shea Moisture?

  • @AmberAuNaturel Applying an oil or any oil based product underneath the Ecostyler should give a softer result. Either you're not using enough oil or you're using too much Ecostyler. Play around with it a bit until you get the end result you want. :)

  • beautiful. I love it.

  • hi do you find that he gel drys your hair out? I've been tempted to use gels for defining my curls but i really don't want my hair to dry out if i do.

  • @riefaification no not at all. i have found that using a good moisturizer underneath really helps. with the moisturizer my hair turns out soft and moisturized.

  • I had try 1000 products and tecnique to difing my hair and never got the result I got when I try your tecnique I love it!!! I get 2, 3, 4 4, 5 days hair!!!! I just love it!! I will keep using this tecnique and products for ever or into I find one that is going to give me better result than this!!! thank youuuu

  • love it!

  • Thanks sis

  • where can i buy the Shea moisture smoothie

  • @MsSunbean Target or Walgreens

  • beautiful! i considering going natural n eventually id want this look

  • Thanks so much! I already have the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, but I am going to get the Eco Styler gel. Hopefully, I will get similar results.

  • can you use moose to set and curl yo hair?

  • Your hair is absolutely gorgeous....

I was wondering how long you usually leave the gel in your hair?

Tried eco styler left it in for 3 days and it dried my hair out, my hair felt like cotton balls when i washed it out. Is the shea moisture a protective barrier and wont allow the gel to dry out my hair?

  • How long have you been natural?

  • @sasXOXO 2 years

  • interesting...for some reason shea moisture and the eco never mix for me..however I never put it on dry hair first and then wet it..must try! Thanks!

  • how do u refresh in the mornings? sorry, if this is a repeat question i cant find the vid where u showed us :)

  • @angeblack10 i have started stretching while I get dress. I have a video on it called Stretchin 7 day ol day hair =)

  • Love it!!!

  • subscribed :-)

  • do you know if people coming from a big chop/ transitioning have a better chance at longer hair than those like myself who have been natural their whole life??? because i realllyyyy want my hair to be longer (its about shoulder length in the back and shorter on the sides cuz i cut some)...please give me your feedback 'allthatsgold' or anyone that sees this comment that can help

  • @MissNinaSimone318 umm i don't think there's a difference. as long as you take care of your hair you should be fine. do you wear your hair down a lot...if so you may want to wear more updos so that your hair isn't rubbing against your clothes.

  • I love it!

  • Hi...So ive been watchin your videos for a month now, and i have fallen in love...Been natural for 8 yrs now, but i have never done any style but twistin...i decided to try and define my curls as you did in the video...i used the curly enhancing smoothie and the eco, afetr i washed and conditioned my hair, and there were no curls n my hair...very disappointed, so i just twisted it as usual...any suggestions that might make my hair curl like yours?? Thanks sweetie...Love all your videos =)

  • @raqinnatural hey im sorry to hear it didn't work.how tight are your curls? people with tighter curl patterns may not see the same results. have you tried finger coils those may work on your hair.

  • anyone can answer but can a person whose transitioning define their curls? i would think they couldn't because there's still relaxed ends ahhhh idk -_-

  • @MsLadiiA well it depends on how much new growth you have. but more than likely no because of the straight ends.

  • omg this is the first video i am watching since ur twa!!!!! ur hair has grown tremendously... very beautiful =)

  • I've heard about this Eco styler gel for months now & I can't find it...I live in the Bahamas(the Caribbean) & it's not available here, when I travelled to florida I couldn't find it! Can anyone help me & suggest a few products that does the same? I have been natural this month makes 2yrs & want to define my curls for a change :)

  • @chilliwill5 hey you can use ic fantasia (love it) or you could try aloe vera gel or isoplus (works alright) those compare to the eco styler. also im not sure if you want to pay for shipping but you can eco styler on the sally beauty supply website.

  • @allthatsgold thanks for the reply i believe i can get my hands on ic fantasia!

  • your hair is too pretty! its the hair i wish i had lol

  • Your hair is really pretty! Thanks for sharing your techniques!

  • i use the regular ecoctyler and if i sleep in it it gets white flaky and junkie. does that happen to anyone. but im transitiing so when ever i make a poneytail i would put a bonnet and sometimes it would cum off and in the moreing if would loook white and flaky.

  • @dudealision i think that's from your hair rubbing against your pillow. have you tried sleeping with a satin pillow case or a scarf underneath your bonnet=)

  • @allthatsgold ummm to think of it i do use a bonnet but it comes off some times...... i need a satin pillow case. thanx 4 the tips..

  • Cute, Thanks for sharing this technique! I have these products, so I will be trying on wash day. :0)

  • Great technique!

  • Hey gurlie, quick q:how do you out the url of your channel on your vids?x

    ps: gawjus curls x

  • @ssikmoi88 thank you =) do you mean send out the url? you go to the channel and just copy the url and paste it in the link box in the annotations section. same goes for videos

  • love the results! and i am personally glad that you made another video about defining curls because taking care of natural hair is a process and as your hair changes so does the process. love this technique and i will try it to hopefully get me off of expensive miss jessie's products! keep it up girl!

  • im going to try this method! thanks for showing

  • Cute!

  • You have really pretty hair.

  • I can never see to many curl define vids. the more the merrier! Nice vid, I needed this. I have both of these products and I am going to try it on my shorter hair.

  • @kgagx3 that's how I feel...i love those types of video =)

  • Thank you for this because it's good to see how these two products react. I've been thinking about purchasing the shea moisture to use with my eco styler and this gives me an idea of what will happen when using the them together. Thanks again :)

  • I don't know if you answered this already, but did you do this on naked hair. I know you said you didn't have any product on, but does that include a leave in conditioner?

  • @crazycurlienatural No I still had some of the curly curl cream in my hair that didn't wash out when i co-washed. Other than that no I did not have any other products in it before starting.

  • I buy one and mix it with the eco gel it make my hair dry out and flake i just hurry up and wash hair i dont know why most of the product i buy do that the only one who doesnt do that is the palmer's coconut oil formula hair milk so far is the best i ever used try that you be happy about the result :)

  • I love your hair ! nice vid

  • Eco really makes my hair hard...what about you?

  • @iamtashafierce Nope I love it lol what are you using under. you can also try putting an oil under and on top of the gel to reduce the hold.

  • @allthatsgold I use Knot Today under...is that ok

  • @iamtashafierce Eco does the same to my hair. I mix one part Eco and 2 parts long aid activator gel and its softens it up alot.

  • @mese1020 I'll try it...Thanks for the tip

  • Your hair is so pretty..can you come back in a couple of days to let us see how it looks after a couple of days? Just to see how big it gets.

  • @Bobbi705 Thank you =) and sure.

  • Thats how i apply my gels I smooth for the most part but rake maybe once then smooth again. Ur hair looks lovely

  • I'll have to try this!

  • great technique ...just hate gels

  • great technique ...just hate gels

  • I LOVE THE FLATNESS!

  • I can never get tried of watching your technique for defining curls. Watching your technique has been very useful. I'm going to try this when the weather gets warmer in New York.

  • It is really pretty. Your hair has so much body and curls. It is not flat at all. Great technique. I must try that. Although my hair is long, it really shrinks up when I define my curls. Have a blessed week.

  • so pretty! your hair is really growing girl!

  • ok this is gorgeous, i think i will be trying it. I've been wanting to try the shea moisture products so now i think i will get some. I never do any defining curls process, i just rock it with a little oil. anyways this is too cute. Be Blessed

  • Love your hair!

  • wow your hair grew so much, how much months have you been natural for ?

  • @sweetdimpelzz I just made 2 years on Monday

  • the results are really nice! that's how i define my curls too! nice video.

  • Cool vid! I usually define straight out of the shower. So I think this is a cool technique for the winter months. I apologize if u already answered this but where do u find Shea moisture? I would like to try it...thanks in advance!!

    Shannon

  • @Shanatural Thank you =) I got mine from Target. but you have to go to target.com to see which Targets it's sold at. and I think you can find them in little small beauty supply stores.

  • @allthatsgold for Shanatural when you go to your local target (this has been the case at my local NJ targets) Most of the natural products, shea moisture, kinky curly, miss jessie and curls are on the outside of the hair product aisle. Walk the outside of the aisle or asked a sale person before you leave the store. The first time I looked I left thinking that Target did not sale it, but when I went back I found it on the outside of the hair products/accessories aisle.

  • Thanks for sharing. In the mornings as the day goes by how do you refresh your curls? How many days does this last you? In beginning when you sprayed your hair with water was it just plain water or a mixture? Does this take a long time to air dry?

    This style was awsome

  • @lilsisa427 I used to just wet it completely in the shower but now I just shake it a little and let it fall while I'm getting dressed. This style last for about a week without wetting it. Yes that was plain water. It doesn't take long to dry when I spray....actually after about two after I finished it had already started to dry. =)

  • So pretty and defined I wonder if this will work on my hair? When I clicked on ur vid I was just thinking I love hat cheetah print jack she does her hair in!

  • Thanks for the vid! Do you refresh your curls in the morning with a little spritz of water?

  • @MakeupOnABudget No not anymore. I used to wet it completely in the shower. But now I just shake it a little and let it fall while I get dressed.

  • Sooo cute!

  • @pebblebeach1971 aww thank you =)

  • @b76463 Not really...I just like to feel how soft the sheamoisture is on my hair when it's dry than wet.

  • have you ever tried henna?

  • @swtypiii No I've tempted to order but never go a round to ordering.

  • Your hair is beautiful.... Keep it coming...

  • @Nkemburk thank you =)

  • Nice technique. I'm so with the idea of smoothing rather than raking especially if your hair is very dense. As well as shaking the curls loose.

  • can u do a followup video showing how you would refresh this style throught the week or the next day ..thanks

  • @debosbambam Sure =)

  • Nope I love to watch people define their curls.

  • Thanks for addressing it more in detail! lol about your hair falling more since it longer and defined. So I have another question then lol: can you get your hair round/big/fro-like anymore? or is it too long now? like would you have to cut it to get it like that again? or is there a technique you can do to get it round again? lol thanks in advance! :D

  • @qchelle2008 Oh yeah...I just use products that aren't as heavy as the Eco styler (or I could use less eco styler) like kinky curly

  • U have gorgeous hair!

  • @parrisj21 thank you =)

  • Beautiful hair definition thanks for the update!

  • @videowizard thank you and your welcome =)

  • what is your name? lol i have been wondering that for the longest!

  • @JazzMarie93 Lol Cristin

  • @tabbykat329 thank you =)
