  • just perfect

this voice and this art of playing slide guitar talk to my heart

    lovely Rory

a grand father of 63 who discpovered this artist too late

  • if we wouldn`t know that he`s an irish white guy you could think he`s a real black rootsblues player...this music is just perfect... an i was born two years before rory died

  • @pyramidenJoe oh well.....what is real eh? authentic?

Can a blue man sing the whites?

  • @pyramidenJoe No one cares how old you are. Just listen to the damn music.

  • @pyramidenJoe [ sigh ] Rory wasn't trying to imitate anyone. He didn't need to because he KNEW his roots and he KNEW that his connection to the Blues didn't need the I'm-a-Black-man-on-stage treatment. He felt the Blues in his soul, he was a genius guitar player and that's all he needed. Black & white are irrelevant at that level.

  • Como não gostar das apresentações de Mr.Gallagher, tudo que ele nos deixou,é um legado!!!!Iluminado Rory!!!!

  • He sounds like Peter Green vocally. If only these two could have got it together!

  • Very good - thank yolu for posting!

  • this tone is what ill be striving for forever

  • you, sir, are a refined gentleman and a scholar.

  • Great blues song--alove his renditiion of it-- more Rory magic as usual!!

  • This was recorded on 4th November 1987 at Cork Opera House (RTE TV) and the song is "Wanted Blues"...

  • @MsLEHMANN69 chers I'll change it

  • @MsLEHMANN69 No offense, but it actually called "Want Ad Blues"..as in "Advertisement"..

"Read your ad this mornin'/said you need a real good man"..

  • @rastablues1 Well there is a story about that. I originally called the clip "Want ad blues" and I got a few PM's saying the real name was wanted blues. So I changed it to wanted blues. Personally I don't give a feck, to be perfectly honest.

  • @incongra I hear ya, brother...What matters is you've shown the world some more Rory. Good job!

  • luv it rory

  • WOW.

  • great great great

  • Man! I had Rory Gallagher albums back in the 70's.

I had gorgotton how much I appreciated his music.

  • est-ce Cork 87? En tout cas, superbe blues de Rory. 10000 mercis;

  • Je pense que oui.

The backdrop looks like it - the one at Cork Opera House. I had that show on VHS (taped off the RTE TV broadcast part of a series of 3 with Paul Brady and Freddie White).

This looks like it was taped off UTV (Ulster TV) as there's a flickering icon in the top-left towards the end that ITV stations used to indicate a Ad-break coming one minute ahead.

  • you spelled his name wrong its gallagher...but i guess i can forgive you since you know great music haha

thanks so much for posting this its great!!!

  • Oops and here was me wondening why it wasn't getting many hits. Thanks I will remedy this.

  • Yep have changed the name- besides I sussed out the tuning what more could you want!

    Enjoy...

  • This is my song

  • Brilliant, no one to match him.this one is new to me. hope there is more where this came from.

  • The set was mainly electric, and with two guys I didn't recognise ( i.e., not Wilson & McCracken). I dug out the acoustic part in the middle because it seemed the most interesting.
