My husband was Pakistani -- died in 1990. He was once questioned and photographed by the Secret Service for driving too close to Camp David when Bush Daddy was in office. He got off easy. Now, he would have been sent to that place in Cuba. After 9/11, we have some understanding. I expect to be profiled as a possible terrorist. I feel badly for that but it is expected. Just as people with white color are profiled in Pakistan.

The place in Cuba is called Guantanamo Bay...and no your husband wouldn't have been sent there so try to make some sense out of what you say. Common sense says that anyone who is to close and you said it yourself that he was questioned for being to close would be stopped and questioned.

.. regardless of your feelings on sociolgical/economic/criminologist effects and beliefs that you adhere to, the fact of the matter is that certain groups of people tend to commit certain groups of crimes... while many of those caught in the stereotype don't like that they are associated with it, it is quite unfortunate, but it is not the responsiblity of the rest of society to make them feel more comfortable....

My husband was Pakistani -- died in 1990. He was once questioned and photographed by the Secret Service for driving too close to Camp David when Bush Daddy was in office. He got off easy. Now, he would have been sent to that place in Cuba. After 9/11, we have some understanding. I expect to be profiled as a possible terrorist. I feel badly for that but it is expected. Just as people with white color are profiled in Pakistan.

I was not crying, thanks. I was simply telling. That was long before 9/11. I fully realize the reasons that "my people" are treated with some suspicion. Back in 1990, my husband did not realize that he was not allowed to drive near Camp David. He was sight-seeing with his nephew visiting from Lahore.

If you read what I said closely, you would see that I expect to be treated with some suspicion and I hold no grudge with that. I would never go near any government office or whatever else. I do appreciate not being called a towel head or like things.

i am not blaming you for the race you were born into, i am simply saying that the unfortunate actions of people in ethnic groups have begun to cast shadows on the rest of the people in their same group... if "profiling" is able to make this country safer to live in, then i will not apologize or take a step back from saying that I am all for it..

Yeah we Asians dont get upset as easily as other races when we recieve racial slurs and such, but it depends on the person moreover. Seriously though Al Sharpton is hypocritical and should stick up for all races not just Blacks, and i say blacks because not all people with a black skin color is from africa.
