Hi Ian, Lovely strong signal there. I've built a QFH antenna, but with my FT857 and IC746, I'm not getting enough bandwidth. Have tried chasing the Doppler with the IC746 (by hand!) but it's not easy. I also have a very noisy downlink here all acroos the 137MHz band. Not sure if I'm getting some sort of QRM from all the pagers at the local hospital up the road? Your rx audio sounds good and strong, and makes for some nice pics. 73 - Rob VK2GOM
Lindeblad is dead.!! (nice antenna tho!!) qfh for 145 tx and rx with qfh for 70cm tx rx and I have what i need... sigs are not 59, but they are workable. Thanks again to VK2FUO for the valuable input..
Thats to bad, yeah I am not sure why my comments were deleted either. But yeah I was able to recover one of the questions. lol odd. But thanks for that video! it makes it so much easier to understand.
yeah nice one vk2xf, I've been messing with a free version of wxtoimg myself. You look as crazy as me. It's great fun catching sat images, as well as exploring the huge world of other frequencies out there.
Great 'Rolf Harris' accent, can you tell what it is yet ?! Just getting back into wxsat decoding myself, nice one

Would you recommend the QFH over the Lindenblad?

Qfh has similar gain and less qsb. Plus the local birds here cant bend the elements. Qfh is the way to go for me. Thanks for your interest.

Hey thanks for the info just one question.
In the case of building a Gfh did you build it off a guide on the internet?
I guess what I am trying to get at is that I cant seem to find a good guide.
Just curious if you knew any good ones.
thanks

lol and one other question, sorry lol.
I have read about "Slinky" Antennas. and was wondering if maybe one of those would work for picking up 137 mhz.?

not sure why your comments have been taken out..!!! The construction vid has been inspired by you questions.

i could do this on a police scanner can i? i have a radio shack pro 2052 that recieves 29mhz to 1200 mhz or would i need like a shortwave radio?
bradmann85 3 years ago
I am trying to figure that out myself I know that you probally would not pick it up, with a shortwave, or at least the radio I have.
