According to Tilastokeskus 90,37% of the population speak Finnish. It's only common sense that you have to know the language in a job where you need to serve customers.

I thought it was odd because they don't often hire non-Finnish speakers here in Finland, but she was quite attractive so maybe that landed her the job..

I agree that racism does need to be stopped. There's nothing wrong with wanting to preserve a race and cultural identity, but there's a way of doing so without marginalizing others. It's the same as how you'd get people behind any other opinion you may have (actually convince them of it's veracity, not take away a person's rights). But, banning "foreigners" from a country won't stop interracial marriage, cultural appropriation, or your "race" from going extinct (if it even is).

I don't understand why you would need to be racist if your country can't support many people. There really isn't any reason to hate non-whites for it and to be prejudice; even if the problem is solely because of non-whites. Just prohibit immigration.

@TheKristian1605 Eipä monikulttuurisuudessa itsessään mitään vikaa ole niinkauan kuin se toimii, mutta tiettyjen ryhmien osalta se ei toimi joka näkyy erittäin alhaisessa työllisyydessä (mm. somaleista vain 21% työllistyneitä ja aika paljon rikoksia). Monikulttuurisuus on ok kunhan vain katsotaan että otetaan sellaisia ihmisiä joilla on edellytykset sopeutua tähän maahan, ja vaikkapa Somalian kaltaisista maista voitaisiin pakolaisten ottaminen lopettaa kokonaan, se ei ongelmia ratkaise missään.

@mylege96 Suomessa ja euroopassa on jostain syystä vallalla sellanen ajatus, että kantaväestön pitäisi sopeutua maahanmuuttajien kulttuuriin ja tapoihin. Jos mun pitäis sodan tai luonnonkatastrofin takia muuttaa vaikkapa Somaliaan niin varmasti yrittäisin sopeutua heidän kulttuuriin ja tapoihin. Idiootit kuten tuo theKristian1605 luulee muiden uskontojen olevan täysin samanarvoisia esim. kristinuskon kanssa, vaikka ne olisivat kuinka vanhanaikaisia/kehittymättömiä.

@TheKristian1605 Joo mutta uskonto määrittää Islamilaiset lait ja moraalin. Siksi muslimit eivät sopeudu suomeen, koska suomen oikeusjärjestelmä ja länsimainen moraali riitelevät Islamin kanssa. Esim tasa-arvoa eivät kolmansista maista tulevat maahanmuuttajat ymmärrä.
Naisia ei saa huoritella/koulusta lintsata vetoamalla uskonnonvapauteen, sen luulisi sinunkin ymmärtävän.

Aside from your run ins with the skinheads, your story didn't seem to contain much real racism. Exactly the opposite, the standards required for employment, any employment in terms of literacy and understanding of Finnish Lutheran manners and work ethic is set high. It is set high even for us, Finns. Since there is no racism (affermitive action), you are expected to live up to the exact same standard. While at the same time we are a quiet inwardly people who shy away from strangers.

And im not racist, but saying that Finland is extremely racist country is just absurd when theres countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia (USA has no problem with selling guns to later one btw) that do not give their people freedom of religion and even kill christians. If they are not allowing christians to build churches, why should we allow muslims to build mosques? Or Somalia, if you are white and go there you will get kidnapped or shot in few days unless you pay for heavily armed guards.
