Nice composition. You stuck to the 2 against 3 all throughout, but as you yourself said you intentionally made that choice, so I wasn't expecting any breaking out of that pattern. Good harmony work. I enjoyed it.
Friended / subscribed / liked. Check out my channel if you feel so inclined. There's only one of my compositions on there (Reminiscence) and it doesn't have video, but you might like it.
@tehmikuji and p.s. i feel it did a good job at invoking what you described you were trying to evoke, emotionally, for me.
even though minimalism is pretty easy, i love it. i've incorporated a lot of it into most of my compositions. i tend to focus more on harmonies, textures and rhythms (this piece being an example of that), more so than melodies, most of the time.
Again, beautiful composition. Keep up the good work.
its funny how the watch is just sitting right there--i guess it comes in handy if you are playing and you need to know what time it is without having to stop playing
Great tune! I would suppose, glasspig, that he kept the watch there in order to keep the eighth notes and triplets in time by having the keyboard keep track of triplets and his watch the eighths. Just speculation, of course.
Again dude great work! I see so much movement in your playing. Have you ever worked with classical dancers/choreographers. I'm sure you'd find it quite the experience!
I thought this was played beautifuly, but became a bit repetative. It became quite captivating again at about 3:15 but then lost me to the repetativeness that kicked back in at 3:34. 3*, but still very well played.
Really liked it - great progressions. Though, my complaint, like most others, is that it sounds too much like Glass, particularly the ending. Other than that, it was phenomenal.
Incredible..at first i thought it was too similar to the opening on Glassworks but after listening a few times, although very similar at some parts , it's quite interesting and well done..Cheers
Finally something I like...I've been looking but have found alot of overly romantic crap. Thank you. Def hear the philip glass...with a bit of micheal nyman in there.
I praise all composers. It's minimal. The pattern established at the beginning is perhaps reached too quickly. And the end is not convincing, unless you know (and accept) the words you wrote. There are some nice harmonic passages, that make this appealing for your listeners. I'm glad it is here.
hey come check out my new compo it is called "A Battle In The Skyes", nice compo you did man i was amazed, beacause it is nothing you heare from a piano player everyday ,its much more original, and it has a different rhythm...;)
I really enjoyed listening to your music. I pay attention to my homework when I listen to original pieces for some reason and your was very inspiring and helpful, thank you again, and don't mind what the other people say, it was beautiful.
you probably shouldn't rely so heavily upon arpeggios as a melody. They're ok in moderation and they often work great for backing, but if you just use arpeggios constantly throughout the entire length of a song, it does get very repetitive very fast. Try and separate your song from the arpeggios and you could also try making a different rhythm over the top of arpeggio chords ^_^
Man goes to an art gallery and sees this painting. Impressionistic in category, the man only notices the picture to be swirling blue and purple colors and thinks what a piece of junk. A man of culture goes to this painting and immedietely is told something about it. The swirling colors resembling the pain and the passion of it's painter. The painting was Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. You've got to look beyond the sound itself to TRULY appreciate it, to realize it's value.
I really like this piece! The arpeggios remind me of the middle section of one of my pieces, I'll post it as a video comment, once again great job! :-)
just so u know, u play wonderfully!! and i actually want to record this and put it onto a video i am making ^_^ i will give u full credit for the song and i will send u the video if u want ^_^ lemme know =)
Beautiful music...I played also variations on the technics about 20 years ago. You've got the "drive" and I like that. (I hope you understand what I try to say because I'm dutch.)
The triplet rhythm was an interesting creative thought but the song started to get repetative really fast for me. It feels like there should be a melody on top of this. This would probably make a great duet harmony I think.
I was thinking that the end was a little abrupt, but mainly thought that the E flat could go to E adding some dissonance to the end. What do you think?
loved it!

Très belle compo, bien qu'assez répétitive, mais je sais que ce n'est pas toujours évident. J'ai voté 5 car j'ai été bien captivé : )

i have to agree; i enjoy your harmonies better than glass.
i'm not a big fan of minimalist work, but i admire the duplet vs. triplets; awesome job.

sounds nice, but sounds just like philip glass. Try composing music that isnt minimalist. you might sound different then.
to be honest u have nice pieces but they get boring after a while and dont sound very orginal.

HaniiPuppy put my thoughts of the piece into words. I also love the eigth note/triplet rhythm, but that to can get very repetitive.
